**** 2025 Season-long NFL PEEHS! ****
Hello again, football fans!
It’s that time of year again! The premier, flagship contest of SE, Season-Long NFL PEEH
My homerism strikes again.
I went from hero to zero real quick with that Ravens choke. Gonna have to sit through a few weeks of bad reveals now.
I don't even know what a Tyler Loop is.
Sounds like either a surgical knot or a highway bypass in east Texas.
2 corrects and one incorrect so far. FU Pacheco.
Can an admittedly ignorant first-time player be embarrassed by whatever these reveals reveal?
We'll soon find out.
Who's here? It's time for the Question 1 Reveal!!!
1. Name a team that LOST its 2024 opener, that will WIN its 2025 opener.
For this question, we had 43 correct answers, 11 incorrect answers, and 1 new entry into The Club.
Pretty sharp PEEHS field!
We'll start by reviewing the incorrects first.
The question DID specify that to be eligible to be correct for this question, the team had to have LOST its 2024 opener.
The Buffalo Bills DID win their 2025 opener, in a thrilling comeback at home vs the Ravens,
But the Bills also won their 2024 opener, defeating the Cardinals in Week 1 of 2024. And are therefore ineligible to be correct.
As I'm formatting the answers, I try to catch these mistakes and pm people to change their picks, but I can't catch everything. And this entry came in just before kickoff on Thursday.
So CMac is incorrect.
The most popular incorrect answer, though not the SHEEP, is my terrible Atlanta Falcons. We came out fired up, and Penix made some thrilling plays, but the usually reliable Koo shanked a 44 yarder as the clock ran down that would have sent it to overtime, and the Falcons fell at home, in a BIG divisional game, to the Buccs.

Also played by 4 contestants, our next incorrect is the New York Jets. In what was surprisingly maybe the best game of the early slate, the Jets ran all over the Steelers, but came up short in the end. Begrudgingly, I'd have to say both Fields AND Rodgers looked pretty good in this one.

Our next most popular incorrect was played by 3 players. The Carolina Panthers had a road date in Jacksonville, but Bryce Young was pretty bad in this one. Hopefully he turns it around, rather than go into his shell of having a total lack of confidence in his game.

Our remaining incorrect went ace-hunting. For the first 55 minutes, the Baltimore Ravens looked like a pretty good pick! But then the reigning MVP did his thing, and the Ravens fell to the Bills, in a game with as much playoff/home field seeding implications as a game can have in Week 1.

There is only one unplayed correct answer for this question:
Green Bay Packers
Quick programming note:
I made a mistake formatting the entries. Dgoat sent me two very similar entries, and I thought they were separate entries, instead of tweaking the original entry. So I deleted his first submission, and will roll with his 2nd entry.
Therefore we have 54 entries in this contest, and the Week 1 Reveal is 42 correct, 12 incorrect.
Sorry for screwing things up. I thought I listed second run in the subject for the second one .
This question has two 10-point co-SHEEPs!
Our first SHEEP answer is the Denver Broncos. A nasty defense at home, playing against a rookie QB making his first career start on the road? Looked like a good matchup. Bo Nix's play was uneven at times, but the defense made enough plays to secure the win vs the Titans.

Our other 10-point co-SHEEP is the Arizona Cardinals. A lot of people like the Cardinals to be a sneaky contender in a wide open NFC West, and their schedule might lend itself to a fast start. A Week 1 game against the lowly Saints was maybe more exciting than it needed to be, but the Cardinals rolled into the Big Easy, and came away with the win.

Our next most popular correct answer was played by 8 players. I have two co-workers that are dating each other, and one's a Jags fan and the other is a Panthers fan, and they made the road trip to go to this game! They're not back in town yet, but I suspect only one of them drove home happy. The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Panthers in Week 1.

Our next most popular correct answer was played by 5 contestants. The Washington Commanders did an admirable job protecting against a ferocious Giants pass rush, and the Commanders got the Week 1 win.

Our next correct answer was played by 4 participants. The Cincinnati Bengals have famously started slow in recent years, and probably deserved to lose this game, too. But they held on, gaining all 7 yards in the 2nd half, and beat the Browns in Week 1.
