The biggest obstacle to politicians banning the sweepstakes model is probably whether or not they are aware of the sweepstakes model.

Obviously I was being overly simplistic. 40+ states arent going to ban it in one year. Sweeps sites and wpt gold are going to be around after Dec 31st 2026. Definitely wont be as profitable obviously, but it wont be extinct.

I spoke too soon - there's a bill in the MA state house with exactly this plan - I have zero faith in EBH or MGM getting their act together to actually put online gaming out there anytime soon, though

I would guess the risk is higher in MA because of NJ, NY, CT banning it. I would assume the politicians (and staffers) talk to each other and MA is at least aware of the issue and discussing it in committees.

As another alluded to, the safest states are likely small states with ignorant politicians that don't know enough or don't care because no one is lobbying them to change the laws.

"I participated in AMOE process. They reduced the amount from $5 to $2 and didn't credit me for those I sent in for over a month. Finally I was credited and ran it up to $1k that was pending in withdrawal for over two weeks (since Aug 24th).
Right after that, I was credited for my very last batch of envelopes I was ever going to send because writing wasn't worth it any longer. I had another 1.7k waiting to withdraw after having played through that as well.
I respectfully emailed them several times asking when it might finally go through. Two weeks is a long time to wait for $1,000. Then today I get an email saying my account is closed. They canceled my redemption and cleared the money from my account. I never violated a single rule. Not one. They closed my account. Lots of people on fb are saying theyre payouts arent coming, people who have done multiple withdraws before.

TBH, as a regular player(3-4 days a week, 12 hour MTT sessions) I would be furious if my withdraw took too long cause they were paying out sweepstakes mail in whores that don’t give action on the site.

If it’s “only” mail in never play sweeps people that have to wait the full 10 days for cashouts and not regular grinders as I give action I should only be forced to wait the 3-4 days.

Honestly happy if that’s why CWPTG is lagging on your group mail in sweeps
