Mixed-up self-hating gays are not an unknown phenomenon (particularly if they come from conservative backgrounds). Gay men taunting straight men that they might be a bit gay -- not unknown either.

It's clear the administration is trying to cover it's tracks right now though. The family is labeling him a distanced black sheep, although what SM we do have doesn't appear that way, and what black sheep then goes to their father and church for advice before turning themselves in? Makes no sense.
Why did the FBI say they had discord access that proved he spoke about the murder weapon, but then discord and the FBI are saying his account was shut down for platform violations. Doesn't make sense.

The bottom line is, known of us know be trying to pin the motivations of a 22 y/o kid w/ no life experience on an entire group. When a right-wing older male goes on a mass shooting rampage, we instantly talk about mental health. We don't immediately blame a whole group of people.

My problem with this is that we don't know if roommate has said he's gay. We've only heard that from the FBI, the same ones that said there was trans ideology (whatever that means) written on the bullets, which turned out not to be true. We've heard Gov Cox tell us something, but more than likely he's getting his information from the FBI. The problem with a politicized police force is how are we supposed to differentiate between good faith assessments that might be wrong, and a narrative that they want to push? Normally you depend on the good will and competency of the police force, but when you put a right wing podcaster in charge and fire people based on who they voted for not on competency, that goes out the window.

I’m not seeing the evidence that the engravings were groyper engravings. The straightforward reading of them is that there are video game references, anti-fascist messages, and a horny weeb meme.
If you buy that the groyper angle is at all plausible you should at least wonder why there isn’t more there about white nationalism, judaism, tradcath, and other things groypers care about. I will say that for a political assassination it’s just weird in general how little we know about his ideology.
Some have speculated that the FBI believes there might be “terrorist cell” and that’s why they are not releasing more evidence/discord messages. Regardless it seems like this whole investigation has been sloppy and politicized from the beginning.

There is also eyewitness testimony from a neighbor that claims to have seen him kissing his roommate. No idea if that neighbor’s testimony was reliable because the logistics of it seem weird (riding by on a bike, heard a conversation and kissing?) but maybe he’s just describing it weird.

Assuming he's not ultra right, he killed Kirk either to punish/stop him from saying bad stuff about trans/gays or to punish/stop him from helping Trump/MAGA.

It's been widely reported they were common memes used in groyper communities. I can't find it now, but there was some article w/ clippings of discord where they were wondering if Tyler was one of them.

Yes, absolutely it’s irresponsible of Trump and the FBI to go hard on the far left angle without even figuring out what this guy’s ideology is, I just haven’t seen anything at all convincing that says he was a groyper. There was some indication that his views are not inconsistent with groypers, so we haven’t ruled it out, but the evidence isn’t there to confirm he is (there’s no positive evidence imo, just not disconfirming evidence) so it makes little sense to jump straight down that path.
