I'm sure it's happened more often than I think, but Luzardo gave up 4 runs in the first and went 8 innings with only 97 pitches.
Kind of a crazy season for both the Mets and the Phillies. I want to say the Phillies will flame out in the postseason with the injuries, but it has been a fun season.

I wasn't fully paying attention to the television set, but first time in modern era for a team to score 4 in the first inning and then not getting another hit the rest of game. I don't know if the losing was part of it.

Watching the Rangers vs. Mets pregame on the Mets feed and they were showing a lot of Mets fans wearing deGrom #48 Mets jerseys who is pitching for the Rangers tonight.

Raleigh tied Mantle for most homers in a season while switch-hitting today with 54, Raleigh has 34 lefty and 20 righty this year. This is a subject close to my heart as my favorite ever player is probably the 2nd GOAT switch-hitter, Eddie Murray. So Raleigh hopefully will set that record with a few to spare.
Interesting with Mantle, it has been later said, and I remember it vaguely from then, that he didn't always hit lefty against righties. Much better hitter righty. But his record shows only 2 PA career righty on righty. It is also said that the record and box scores can't be trusted on this. His total ratio of at bats seems to be more lefty at-bats than expected, but maybe there were less lefty pitchers then.
Anyway Raleigh might make a bid for second GOAT switch-hitting seasons and even career. Put him at first base if he isn't a great defensive catcher, for longevity. Don't make the Piazza mistake of cutting way into his career games played.
Move him to first base imo.
Back in Mantle days the starters pitched a lot of complete games, and I don't know if left relievers were even emphasized much.

Sounds like Elly is a troubled man.
His sister died in June and he's been dealing with a leg injury for months. Tito has dementia and shouldn't be anywhere near a baseball team. Both things can be true.

I was wondering if he was nicked up a bit. Seems last year was similar in that his stolen base % last portion of season went from nearly 90 to about 60. Similarly nicked up legs.
Both catchers hit two dingers and a double in the Seattle/KC tilt tonight. Gotta be a bit of a rarity.
