You could be right. Would certainly explain a lot. Especially some of his "trips" that are so hilarious that he would fly somewhere just to literally walk around in some parks or a golf course. It really is like he's just killing time with anything that is free.

EDIT: I also remember he went to a Racino (combination casino and horse race track) and was excited to stand at the railing of the track when it was empty as the races hadn't started yet. Or the time he flew to Denver to watch the first 6 innings of a baseball game. Then had to rush back to make his flight home so that he could roam around Vegas for 12hrs before his hotel check-in time.
Or when he went to San Fran to walk around a park in the rain and then peered through a shop window at ducks that he mistakenly thought were raw.
Both those two are absolute classics. Especially the San Fran walking around aimlessly for hours in the rain to kill time on his homeless weekend.

That is not very surprising when it comes to the Trooper and the bad diet/lack of health focus from him over many years. Its easy to be tough cool guy eating burgers,fries and fast food boasting that you eat what you want-but not so cool anymore when you are facing serious health problems.
He is well on in his fifties,i would expect more lifestyle diseases is likely for him such as diabetes.
