Trip Report 9/21 - 9/26
Just sitting in the airport bored and waiting for my flight. Looks like it is on time.

First break 38.2 k it's been a real roller coaster. I think I've been involved in more pots and showdowns than I was the whole 12 hours yesterday.

That was about 12 at the time. But I am out! 11 got paid and I was lucky number 11 😀 but there was no rungood in this tournament. I had to scratch and Claw for absolutely every chip. But nothing wrong with a Min cash it's a lot better than the alternative. So the tourney cost 200 and I got bsck 392 for a cool profit of 192.
Sitting at the bar in Grimaldis and just ordered food then I want to try to play a little cash before I go back get some sleep.

Dinner at Grimaldi's was outstanding as usual. I really enjoy the calzones there. I had my usual green pepper and onion. It also took me four beers to wash it down. Grimaldi's has kind of become a post cash tradition for me. I think this is the third or fourth time when I've cashed in a tournament and then celebrated my victory at Grimaldi's. Pro tip I always sit at the bar instead of a table because it's easier to get served more beer that way.
As you can see I already took a bite before I remembered to take a picture of it. Although I have probably 20 pictures of the same dinner stored in my phone.
I got on the list for cash at Venetian and as soon as I finished my meal I went over there to see if I can get a seat. They were just opening a brand new table which was perfect. I got a seat and the first thing I did was order another beer. The second thing I did was wave over the massage girl to get a rub. This obviously wasn't going to be a real serious poker session. This was more of a vacation situation. I immediately got stuck about $150 with lucy-goosey type play. But I was smart enough to get dealt Ace King of Spades and get re-raised and then shove over the top all in. I got a call from another Ace King but that one wasn't suited. I was smart enough to know the three Spades would hit on the flop. So that got me out of trouble. I only played about 45 minutes and ended up losing $7. So I was in for $300 and out for 293.
I would have liked to play longer but the beer was making me have to pee too much. And since I wanted to drink beer more than I wanted to play poker I decided just to leave and come back up to the room. Sitting in the room right now drinking beer. Like I said day one B had 178 entrance. So those guys are going to have a lot more chips than us day one day people. But that's okay I'm looking forward to the opportunity tomorrow to see what happens.
During a good portion of today's tournament there was a girl who was on my right who was also on my right at the final table of the tourney I won at Resorts World this summer. We chatted a bit and she told me Resorts can barely get a tourney started these days and that they usually don't even get enough to start it. Thats a great room and it's sad that they can't enough people for that tourney. Then again today's Wynn daily only got 88 and it used to get 100+ easy and often 150.
During a good portion of today's tournament there was a girl who was on my right who was also on my right at the final table of the tourney I won at Resorts World this summer. Sad to hear that RW can't even get tourneys running these days :( I really like that room, but think it might be in trouble going forward. To be fair, the entire RW property is in trouble - even me who has hardly played there get a lot of offer emails and have room rates as low as $28 at times.

No, it was an Asian girl with a lot of fancy rings. And yeah it's sad that RW can't get anything going. If I didn't make day 2 today part of the backup plan was to possibly try to play a tourney there.

Slept pretty good last night and feel pretty well rested. Decided to try breakfast at the Terrace Point Cafe at the wynn. It was very nice with seating out on the terrace. Ever since they took them off the menu at the Grand Lux I've been searching out places that have huevos rancheros. These were very good but I still like the old ones at the Grand Lux better.
After breakfast I decided to take another shot at bubble crabs. I hit a roll pretty quickly in and cashed out for $93 plus. As always the goal is to hit and run. Then I took 20 of those lucky dollars and put them in a slot machine. That 20 disappeared instantly. Now I think I'm just going to get some steps in before the tournament restarts at 11:00.

It will be 38 players 19777 up top with 797 min cash. At 140k i am half of average with about 23 big blinds.
Just checked in and unbagged. I've just been wandering around the Venice and getting some steps in. Then I decided to get a chair massage and now I feel great looking at the players list there's 11 people with shorter Stacks than I have so I'm just going to try to stay focused and patient and hope the cards fall my way.
Well that didn't last long. Eight hands to be exact. I got coolered ight off the bat. I was on the button and got AA. Only stack shorter than me raised to 15k from the cutoff. I raised to 45k.
He called. I don't even remember what the Flop was but it was three unconnected cards. He checked and I bet another 45k and he shoved his last few chips. We flipped up our cards to show my aces and his set of sevens. Not really much I could do there.
They don't left me with only 31k. Now all I have is a shove that won't scare anybody. But two hands later I get pocket fours and shove the 31k and the fours are good. So I got to double up but I'm still severely understacked. In a small blind with Ace 9 off it folds around to the button who raises to 16,000. I think for a second figure is probably a button raise and my Ace is probably good so I shoved them last 65k. Theoretically my A9 should have worked against his King 8 but an eight hit on the Flop and I was gone.
So I got another Min cash which is better than no cash but I was really hoping to get some play today in this tournament. So in for 400 out for 792 for a 392 profit.
I think I'll wander around for a little while and try to figure out what I want to do with the rest of the day. There's a 400 daily here at the Venetian then there's also the Wynn daily. Then again I haven't really played any cash this trip and I think that's maybe what I'm going to do since I've spent so much time seeing a tournament tables the last two days.

Sorry those aces couldn’t have held, that was definitely the right spot.
Thanks! Only question is if I sjould have shoved preflop. I figure shorter stack is commited either way and i actually do want a call. I just dont want him to catch a set 😀
