2025 NFL Season Thread: Can Uncle Rico save the Broncos or will they be Nixed?
Greetings friends.
Those of you who know me know me as a Niners fan full of fantastical levels of vitriol and rage. I hav
it's early in his career, but he has started 20 games. that's not nothingmy point is that he probably will never be ELITE and may have trouble ever getting to Tier 2 during his career- - - - - - - - - - Tampa Bay's point differential (+6) ranks tied for the smallest of any 3-0 team in league history, per Pro Football Reference.- - - - - - - - - - this is wildO'Connell and Flore
How many QB's do you consider to be elite in the NFL? Lamar, Allen, Mahomes, Burrow and maybe Herbert? I don't think Bo will ever reach this level. I think he is certainly capable of winning a Super Bowl with Denver but he will need an elite team around him. I felt when he came out his ceiling was a more athletic Goff. If Bo connects on one of those over throws against the Chargers the Broncos win. In fact, after looking at the film Denver could have handily beat the Chargers. Bo has elite traits for sure. He still has some mechanical issues. He tends to step up in the pocket and then throw while still on the run instead of anchoring himself to make a better throw. Denver is a team that will win 8 or 9 games in a row and get right back into things. Sean Payton teams seem to always start off slow.

Sando's 2025 QB Tiers article had five Tier 1 QBs and nine Tier 2 QBs
fwiw Nix was ranked in the middle of Tier 3 this pre-season: A Tier 3 quarterback is a legitimate starter but needs a heavier running game and/or defensive component to win. A lower-volume dropback passing offense suits him best.
this is what he has achieved early in his career in one of the best spots (#1 pass pro in the NFL, top quartile defense) a young QB can find himself in. does he slip to Tier 4 (or Tier 5) if the environment around him becomes more muddled?
too bad that Flores is too uppity in the minds of the owners to hire as HC - not many of them seem to really want to win
Flores might be the best defensive coordinator in the league. The track record is not good lately with these guy's moving on to head coaching gigs. Vance Joseph, Vic Fangio, Robert Saleh, Antonio Pierce and Dennis Allen were not good. Raheem Morris, Demeco Ryans, Aaron Glenn...We shall see but not looking great. There have been a lot of great defensive coaches who turned out to be great head coaches but that is mostly many years ago when the game was different. I'm personally not a fan of John Harbaugh and Sean McDermott. I think both have held back otherwise very talented squads. Todd Bowles has done a great job in Tampa. Mike Tomlin is great at just barely having a winning record and then losing in the first round of the playoffs. Pete Carroll has continued to hang around and is clearly a great coach but I can't un see what happened in the Super Bowl. Speaking of Super Bowls, Dan Quinn was the leader of the ultimate choke job. Mike Vrabel seems good but not great. Belichick obviously benefited from Brady.

Bo threw for 29 TD's and 12 interceptions his rookie year. The 29 TD's is the second most by a rookie ever. He also rushed for 430 yards and had 4 rushing TD's and a receiving TD. He lead the broncos to their first playoff appearance in nine years. He did have a great offensives line. He was also dealing with a terrible running game and virtually no production from his TE's. He did all of this and didn't throw his first TD pass until week 4. He had 21 TD passes in his last 8 games. I don't have to use my imagination to see what Bo is capable of.
It has not looked good for Bo the first three games. He has missed some throws. That being said, a lot of those misses were very close to receptions. You can argue that his receivers could have made better plays on the ball. A couple of Bo's misses were in situation were he was hurried by the defender. Like I said, if he connects on one or two of those we are having a different discussion. If the Broncos were 2-1 or 3-0 like they should be there would be no questioning of Bo's ability. I still think Engram is gonna be a big part of this offense. RJ Harvey will get it going by the second half of the year. Pat Bryant will be integrated more. This is an extremely complex offense and it will take some time for the offense to get it going.
Nix is dead last in the NFL in success rate when pressured
last season, the only person to finish below him in this stat was Dangeruss
just sayin'
hmm...coulda sworn Josh was inaccurate.
You don't get to be September Champs for 5 years running w/o an accurate QB.
Just looked at the cap hits for mahomes and KC is stuck with him. The next 2 years his cap hits are 78M and 74M. He needs either two top 10 pass catchers or five top 100 pass catchers for him to look league average or better and I don't think they can afford to surround him with that much talent with his cap hits unless there is a fire sale on defense.

You think it's a bad thing that KC is stuck with Mahomes?
Damn, is this next decade for the Chiefs going to be as bad as the the last decade of Rodgers in GB????
Those cap hits are misleading anyways, they’re going to just keep doing the signing bonus conversion thing they’ve done the last couple years.
The real pain of Mahomes is never drafting higher than 28th, not the salary cap.
made me cackle, also this dum stuff
the flap is not merely a play sheet but also microsolar panels transfering energy toward the other bionic throwing arm
notice in the second gif how he avoids shattering his wrist on the same arm that plants into his facemask
I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that the stupidest poster in this forum by far thinks the chefs are ‘stuck’ with Kermit
Oh snap
mahomes is washed. defenses should totally be selling out to stop short game, and force mahomes to beat them throwing deep.
