Your end product looks waaay better than thumbnail (although not presented as well). I have no idea how the chicken ended up looking so good. When I make chicken it is one step above crap. Also, the first creami I made didn't even get smooth all the way through. It was fine and took longer to eat than just drinking some shake, but, yeah, I suck at those too so far.

You should be mixing it on light ice cream. After this it should look kinda like dippin dots. Then add a little milk and respin. After this it should have the consistency of ice cream. Then you can also add any mixin’s you want and hit the mix-in button

How do you mess up chicken breast? All you need to do is take it out of the packaging, season it, and bake/grill/air fry. If you're especially inept at this and don't mind spending extra money, you can always buy ready-made frozen grilled chicken breasts they sell in the store. No idea how they taste though as I always make my own.

Yes, I did two respins last time (I don't think I added enough liquid after the first mix) and it worked a lot better.
What are the amounts of ingredients that you use when you make high protein ice cream? I know you mentioned what you use but I don't think you mentioned the amounts.

Well, in the past I've made shredded chicken in a crock pot. It was fine. The "best" version was chicken breast and putting in a ton of salsa with it before cooking. But it was never great and I'd generally use a bunch of BBQ sauce with it so it was better.
The times I've baked chicken breast it's been pretty bland - I'm sure I need to find some better way to season it but the options I tried were all pretty mid. Buying things like frozen grilled chicken breast I assume is pretty bland unless it's seasoned a bunch and in that case I'm not sure how far away it is from the breaded chicken nuggets I eat. I don't feel like when I'd eat shredded chicken and a baked sweet potato I was much more satiated vs. the chicken nuggets, so that's why I have been sticking to it.
Good video. I'd quibble slightly with a few of the techniques, but ultimately it's just personal preference (i.e. I am not an air fryer guy, even though I recognize it's likely more than fine, especially for what it's being used for here).
Yugo,
It seems like you're starting from an N1H/ytf level of cooking knowledge (and perhaps palate)? As an example, the below recipe is super easy and one of my kids' favorites; I'd imagine you could modify it to cook inside in some way, but grilling is pretty easy. Either pound out to reasonably uniform thickness like Evo, or slice into cutlets of uniform thickness a la the recipe. I prefer to use a jaccard on chicken breast (literally 15 dollars on Amazon); lay them out on paper towels so they actually get dry, season individually (don't just season the marinade), and prepare as instructed. Internal temp of 150-155 is best to ensure it's not dried out. Easy to make large batches and have in the fridge. Add your starchy carb and veggie of choice and there you are.
With that said, it's getting to be fall; it's time to think about stewing large, fattier cuts of meat in the oven for 3+ hours and keeping it in the fridge for weekly lunches, snacks, and the odd dinner (a "glue meal", per one of the minis). Low effort and high reward.
Yes, my cooking skills (for meat at least) is from decades ago. My wife is vegetarian (so is 1 of our 2 kids) and I never bothered to cook anything but very basic meat for myself, ever. So, yes, even tenderizing chicken breast is something I've literally never done.
And I barely ever grill, we have an electric grill so that shows how much I care about that.
That recipe is def very easy, which I wouldn't expect from serious eats - so helpful reference, thanks.
All we need is some pics of all natural girls trenning hard and it'll be like 2015 all over again.
Yugo,
I'm making this tonight, and it's also quite easy and makes a boatload of food! I'll admit it's probably more of a weekend effort, though.
Bolognesa with heavy cream, nutmeg, and fish sauce?
Gonna pass on that. I guess I could try it one time but nah.
Olympia thoughts?
Open division seems to be the most open comp in years with Dauda a tiny favourite over Choopan with Lunsford not far behind and 3 others paying under $10
So many thoughts after taking some time off from internet poker forums niche health forum with my other 12 incels who still post here years after none of use utilize any of the forums for the sole purpose this site was created:
1) Guy, I'm glad you have a coach. You have a lot of paralysis analysis. Look at your training and how you "discovered" a thing and how quickly you "discovered" a new thing. What you said about machines is totally true and was echoed by T-Nation in the early 00s. Most then (and still do) have those adjustable pins. So you can easily tailor these to what you want.
2) Monte, do you think someone after all these years is gonna take your cooking advice or are you, much like Guy, just kinda posting it in the vain hope some lurker will read it and take it seriously? (Love the SE parprikash alterations you mentioned years ago btw.)
3) Loco, cmon man. Fish sauce (as a general term) is widely used in Italy. It was developed independently by the Italians in the Roman age. Cream... meh. Nutmeg is great, I tend not to prefer it my spag bol. But with your palate. How could you even judge this?
4) Yugo, many of the people I cook for have very restrictive diets for whatever ****ing bizarre reason they have. Ranging from my wife to my in laws to my Dad. Somehow despite the fact my wife will only eat a handful of well cooked fish items, I still manage to make amazing meat dishes all the time. I just crushed like 2lbs of poached chicken thighs and rice without bothering to eat another meat meal in between. Surely you can learn to use a George Foreman (or what most of us call a panini press) or an Air Fryer.
That being said. There are a ton of amazing chickpea and bean dishes that both of you can totally enjoy and may or may not being enhanced by meat. This is also how militant your wife is on vegetarianism. Mine isn't really vegetarian or pescatarian at all. She just doesn't like the taste and texture of meat. (Which means many meat subs are off the table including incredibly meaty mushrooms and ultra processed foods like Beyond Meat.) Will chicken broth set her off? Can you use veggie broth? Just find something workable and learn to use a freezer and a stove IMO.
Thremp,
I'm not really sure? I think it's more that the effort to type out the post is pretty low and the upside to Yugo actually being able to make food that's more nutritious than nuggies is so asymmetric that it's worth doing even if the chances of it being actually incorporated are miniscule. Also I like to hear myself talk, even if it's into the void.
ETA: That's pretty cool about the paprikash! It's a great recipe that the boys still really enjoy.
it's a little sad that OP's abandoned us.
I'm around, busy. Interviewing for a remote Defi job, still working my teaching job, still coaching my clients. Adam will start prep at the end of the month and I plan to have him more peeled than I was at my own show. Still bodybuilding. I'll give a full update eventually. I log my lifts on grok, I can just repost the training log part here when I get around to it. I've absolutely blown up to 98kg morning weight. I barely need any food and my scale weight+strength just keep climbing. Still haven't had a cheat meal since the one I had with my cousin 7 days after stepping on on stage
Monte,
Totally feel that. I assume no one reads what I write. But it rewarding to have had even a small impact on someone's life via rambling on about something you know deeply about and want to share. Weirdly I have this ongoing currently in my professional life where I talk to electrical engineers who want to talk about all sorts of asinine things and I'm happy to entertain it for the rare nugget of genuinely useful information. (NB: These are all highly educated men who are around our age and just wanna pontificate. Something I feel both of us can relate to. Feels kinds weird being on the N1H side of the desk but such is life. I will never be an expert at all things.)
fw,
Siriously.
Guy,
Defi is very very gey. Again, no hate. But I'm trying to actively move out of the space. Is this sure what you want about 6y after it got started? You ain't stupid. What do you think is gonna make you happy?
FWIW I moved away from "make number go up" to "do things that make number go up and provide benefit for society". I was very good at the former. But maybe I'm excellent at the latter. Maybe I'm just mediocre. Regardless unless I'm a complete and abject failure I can still look back at something "I did" other than making a number going up on a computer screen. Granted you spent a lot of years teaching kids, so you prob got a few years of meaningless self-loathing to get there.

no complaints from the current infrastructure about walking, headphones, miscellaneous micro aggressions?
re your weight gain...are you happy with it in relation to your plan/stated goal of not putting on as much weight in the offseasons, moving forward?
turbocorporate mega-school with 3k students and 600 teachers; my department is only 300 students though. Plenty of microaggressions from boss lady, but she actually walks the walk so I'm okay with her talking down to me and everyone else unlike the previous one who was both incompetent and acting all uppity. She has undergraduate from Cambridge and MA in education from Harvard.
Tolerating microaggressions is part of life working at a school, lots of losers who can only feel better by condescending and demeaning other people, including students. But I'm completely fine with it if the school is run well, parents are getting what they're paying for, and students are having a good experience. It's just hilarious when the people clearly enjoying their authoritarianism can't actually produce the results as well as the people they're being condescending toward.
Regarding weight, yeah no that's cope. I'm probably gonna end up around 103-106 peak offseason. So far I've stayed relatively lean, I can still gain around 11-14lbs of pure bodyfat and be at a reasonable offseason competition. 6 weeks post show today and 8 weeks into a surplus now and I'm very sure I could hit all time prs in my major lifts (db presses, incline, sldls, etc) at a lower bodyweight than I hit them the first time. Not going for it though; I'm doing mostly 12-20s on most things for about another month before I start progressing lower rep 8-12s.
Belt squat RDL is the best glute+hamstring exercise of all time. Basically use a straight bar or a v-handle on the belt squat machine and do a paused slight deficit RDL.
do it now if you don't already. GOAT
I don't know about that bro. Looks just like dumbell rdl or barbell rdl or even that hammer strength ground machine for squats/deadlift.
But belt squat is the GOAT version of squatting, especially for OLDs. Good bye butt wink.
Loading on the back is stupid. Retire the barbell back squat boys unless you are KC and you were born to squat. Best thing I ever did, wish I would have been pushed away from backsquatting 15 years ago.
I would expect a large percentage of people posting here to have watched it and enjoyed it. It is objectively great. And that song is a banger.
Villagery pop in.
So "Golden" actually became a giant radio hit on the local pop station here (KIIS-FM). And AFAIK "This is What it Sounds Like" hasn't been played once (yet). KIIS is actually promoting that the 3 singers who sing "Golden" are going to perform it live at one of their local festivals. Although I am not sure how that is going to work, as I am pretty sure they are all way older than their cartoon characters and not particularly attractive (the lead singer actually looks pretty attractive for a 40 year old; although it seems like she has had a lot of work done to her face)

What It Sounds Like is the name of the song. It charted on the Billboard 200. EJAE is 33 and smoking hot. It may vaguely help to have a reasonable clue about the subject you want to rant about, but I'm pretty sure this is bait.

just chillin in offseason. 3 Weeks of a minicut; no show this academic year. Intentional pivot in my business toward more normie clients. Blood Pressure dads and wine-moms. The types of people who would go to their doctor who would just throw pharmaceuticals at them rather than diet/lifestyle changes. They'd go to a personal trainer who would teach them to lift weights (poorly, usually), but provide 0 formal training program or diet plan. They are typically 400rmb/hour in China and I've met literally two in my whole life that spoke English as PTs do not tend to come from high socio-economic status. If a foreigner in China like this gets an online coach they can probably get that blood pressure down without being on an ARB+2 powerful diuretics, they'll get higher quality programming and lift execution help, and have somebody teach them sustainable meal prep habits that make complying with a diet plan easy.
Not everyone is lucky enough to have brain chemistry that feels high reward from exercise/activity. People get busy doing all the normal things in life (that I generally did not do) like getting married, grinding through the corporate career ladder, having kids, watching netflix, eating takeout most meals. They feel embarassment going to the gym not knowing what to do, they don't have time/energy/desire to voraciously consume internet fitness content, they can't easily differentiate between high and low quality informational content, they feel ashamed of their bodies going into the gym, they don't have time or energy to research ways to improve their health and just fall for whatever their ******ed GP tells them without questioning it (people in society have WAY too much respect for doctors... I'd maybe 1/5 that I've met have been competent and not stupid f4ggots), and then they get preyed upon by some PT who's more concerned with creating psychological dependence and extracting resources from them than helping them progress. And they get a superior service from me at a much lower cost....
Helping these people feels important. It feels meaningful. It's adding years to their life. It's allowing them to play with their kids in the physical way they should instead of being on screens all day. It helps their partner feel more sexually attracted to them (the cause of so many marital and relationship problems is really just lack of physical attraction). Helping some bodybuilder get a higher placing at a show than he would have without your guidance or some powerlifter who *could* figure out this **** on his own get to leaner and healthier faster and with less friction... that's cool and all, but it doesn't quite feel the same.
Figuring out a diuretic peaking protocol for a very large tall 109kg bodybuilder prone to water retention, prone to stressing out, neurotic, etc.... that's hard, it's complicated, it's un-necessarily high stakes. It makes my brain hurty. The consequences of messing up can be dire. Answering the question "which one is the hack squat machine? how do i use it?" is easy and fun and simple.
Taking things slowly. Next show pro qualifier July 2027 or November 2027, haven't decided yet. Hoping to start prep at a point slightly leaner than the pic above. But I've already spammed that in this thread; the key to getting really inside out shredded with glute lines and all that is just starting the cut leaner. Bodybuilding seems to be shifting toward both longer contest prep phases and what they're calling "pre-prep diets". One style of pre-prep diet is 4-12 weeks of aggressive fat loss, 4-8 weeks building calories back up slowly with minimal weight regain just to restore metabolic function, and THEN starting a 16-20 week contest prep. The other style is dropping PEDs to minimal, doing very slow but easy weight loss for 6-8 weeks that isn't an aggressive enough pace to get metabolism downregulated, then re-addeding androgens and starting a 16-20 week contest prep. But generally people aren't going from peak offseason->contest prep directly as much anymore; this works for a small subset of advanced pro level bodybuilders with extremely fast metabolisms but for most other people it results in outrageously hard contest preps where you drop ~20% of bodyweight in 16 weeks and have a flatter stringier look on stage.
Far larger market too as well as the positive improvements you can make to their lives.
Good luck with it
Are you saying you are charging 400rmb or that the other guys charge that much
Also, quads stand out as bigger and better shaped than I remember. Offseason obvs but to my slightly trained eye, that looks like gainz

I'm charging a paltry 1500 rmb per month to account for the fact that salaries are much lower here and that STILL puts me on the high end of pricing among online coaches in China. A typical Chinese bodybuilder doing the cycle and diet for a fellow gym bro is as little as 700/mo. And they don't even do gen-pop, they know its better/easier to milk those people face-to-face. And most Chinese bodybuilders can't speak English either so foreign clients online are out.
Hiring a non-competitor regular commercial gym trainer you will pay around 400 RMB/hr, with small discounts if you buy 20+ hours. They give 0 diet and never write out a training program the client could follow without them there. The trainer gets usually no more than 40% of this fee. But the tradeoff is they don't need to do any marketing or finding their own clients.
Bodybuilding competitors or powerlifters who look good and aren't fat doing something different called 自由教练 where they pay the gym a flat fee and bring clients in and charge clients whatever they want, usually anywhere from 500 RMB to 800 RMB depending on notoriety. They need to find their own clients. They usually don't work at commercial gyms because paradoxically it woudl **** with their bodybuilding too much. Typically they will write out a diet and full training plan. Some hot girls with good social media marketing skills also do the 自由教练 thing, but as you can imagine the service level is radically lower than somebody who's competed before.
Even smart people pay for coaching and ask for advice since everyone is prone to doing dumb stuff. I can share an anecdote from the stone age when I reviewed an anklebreaker program which I will briefly summarize.
Thremp:
Anklebreaker: Good movement.
T: When did you last do leg presses?
AB: About 10 years ago.
T: So good you didn't do them for 10 years?
AB: Point taken.
If you're almost always right and compare notes with someone else who is almost always right, it is much more unlikely that both of you will be wrong than you doing it on your own. So probably not an insignificant amount of your clientele will be people who just need accountability and spot checking their current plans.
Nice to see an update! I think helping people add years and improve their QOL is a really good thing. Although I have no idea how frustrating it may end up being when normies continue to normie and **** things up.
Want to practice by sending me a 0 rmb diet plan? I fell off December and January, then was sick for the last month.
