japanese marveling at gunpowder is absurd - the westerners brought superior cannons as cannons were not the focus of gunpowder innovation in asia (they focused on bombs and shotgun blast darts type stuff that were anti-personnel in nature - which turned out to be a dead end technology tree as the european model of "let's knock down the wall" could be adapted by using chained balls or grape shot to also handle people quite nicely as well
so it wouldn't have been "omg what is this thing" but rather "hey our armies all use gunpowder but they have cannons which are better than our own"
furthermore, the portuguese brought over their cannon designs a good 60 years before the show is set and by then every japanese army was using the improved european style firearms and cannons
all the bushido nonsense of self sacrifice and suicide for honor is also complete nonsense - we tend to highlight the outliers and tales from fables - which is much like if the japanese treated every american as happily willing to work themselves to death a la john henry - ie every movie the japanese made that was set in america had americans going through extreme hardship with janitors working up sweats because they mopped so hard because that's how an american would work
you won't find that stuff in reality - you won't find the top advisor happily committing suicide just so their main opponent attacks one week later when they are better prepared to respond, you do not find people committing suicide over the slightest offense - stuff like that was usually found in situations like "you've committed treason, we will execute you tomorrow if you don't do it yourself before then" and not someone killing themselves because another person made a yo momma joke to them

I think I'm not terrible at MLB the Show. Been playing for 2 years. I beat some guys online at a lower level. Usually I play offline vs CPU in various modes. I do batting practice, like really work on my game. I used to be able to "tempo hit". They nerfed that, and now I still try to...this means you watch the leg kick of the batter out of the corner of your eye, helps with timing. Before the nerf, I 90% knew before the pitch was thrown whether it was fast or slow, real Astro cheating advantage. Some pro made a youtube how to do it. I was mercy rule beating dudes online, crushing the ball. But probably so many players were doing it (like if I could do it, anybody could, and it was breaking the game) so the hitting animations were changed. Now I'm just a try-hard.
I do a lot of breathing meditation of sorts with the baseball. Like hitting and pitching, one breath or whatever per pitch. It's effective.
I started to play Madden. I am working on it. Can breath with a rhythm here too. A lot to learn. I like baseball because I can't figure out shooters, they make me dizzy. And games where you have to fight and build your character, too many controls. Baseball is simple one button to hit, one stick to pitch, slow game.
Also been playing Balatro. It uses poker hands and it's like a scoring game, it's pretty crazy, a lot to learn.
