2025 NFL Season Thread: Can Uncle Rico save the Broncos or will they be Nixed?
Greetings friends.
Those of you who know me know me as a Niners fan full of fantastical levels of vitriol and rage. I hav
Back on football things, am I crazy to have tipped Jags tonight? I’m equal 1st with 1 other for the weekly prize in my 100 person pick comp. There’s a total points tiebreaker so I could win even if we both picked Chiefs, but I’m thinking Jags D could slow them down and they’re not as good as they looked last week given how bad Ravens are.
But then…feels so dirty picking TLaw over Pat and I’ll hate myself if/when Chiefs win easily
Just ruminating. Imagine you get knocked out by a giant ass on tv. An ass so big it almost puts you through the turf. I would stay inside from then on, I mean that is your life now. Legacy. But guy is brave and stays on tv. Then gets stabbed up by a door dasher, and he gets arrested for it.Gonna keep going out in the world to make your mark, or have you had enough? Wha
inspired
If this isn’t the most mark Sanchez headline in history I challenge you to tell me what is
Wasn't his number with the J-E-T-S 6? Karma.
Video of the altercation? Absolutely!
Tbh, I’d expect far worse either from someone paralytic drunk or who’d just been stabbed, let alone both. Didn’t look too bad tbh
Is there a full account of what actually happened out there yet?
I hate to admit that I've stumbled down a few streets probably looking worse than that. Not stabbed though, fortunately!
You never seen something exaggerated before by a cop or lawyer?
Clearly, now I’ve seen it, it really is a significant injury.
Guessing there’ll be some legal shenanigans still though. It was the driver’s knife and Sanchez was stabbed too. So am certain he’ll be arguing that it was an argument and then the driver pulled a knife and Sanchez had to defend himself etc
Legal shenanigans is a lock. How much confidence do we have that the photo of the other guy is legit and unaltered?
Sure I have. But I don't see the motivation in this case. Anyway, probably a laundry list of bad decisions by Sanchez that day.
Motivation? After midnight?
There is almost certainly a laundry list of bad decisions.
No truer words ...
To be fair I think that tweet came out before anyone knew anything
hasn't shefty been the loud speaker for agent propaganda campaigns for several years now?
the first pre-season poll reporter of sorts
all evidence in following weeks is in attempt to sway momentum away from an obviously false baseline metric
But that’s how him, Sharms etc get their access.
Their entire lives would be one giant Quid Pro Quo

Today's Fun Facts:
Justin Fields is now 0-26 as a starter when the opposing team scores 21 points or more.
In 2nd place is Colt McCoy at 0-19.
In 3rd place Joe Pisarcik at 0-16. (New York Giants 1977-1979) (Philadelphia Eagles 1980-1984)
Joseph Anthony Pisarcik
(born July 2, 1952) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback for eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) from 1977 through 1984.
He began his NFL career with the New York Giants and is best remembered for his role in the November 19, 1978, game where the Giants, ahead 17–12 with only seconds to play and their opponent out of time-outs, lost after his handoff (a play called by offensive coordinator Bob Gibson over Pisarcik's objections) to Larry Csonka was fumbled and returned for a touchdown by Herman Edwards of the Philadelphia Eagles. The play has since been referred to as "The Fumble" by Giants fans and "The Miracle at the Meadowlands" by Eagles fans, and it was instrumental in making the quarterback kneel (also known as "taking a knee") a routine play for running down the clock at the end of a game.
In 4th place Chris Weinke at 0-14
Weinke played minor league baseball in the Toronto Blue Jays farm system from 1990 to 1996, advancing to class Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs, before deciding to attend Florida State University. Head coach Bobby Bowden had initially recruited Weinke when he was a prep quarterback in 1989 at Cretin-Derham Hall High School. After quitting baseball, Weinke called Bowden, and Bowden offered him a scholarship with the 1997 recruiting class. After arriving he quickly distinguished himself as a starting quarterback, leading the team to victory in the 1999 national championship. In 2000, at 28, he became the oldest player to receive the Heisman Trophy.
More Colt McCoy factoids
Long before Colt McCoy suited up for the University of Texas, his father, Brad, was literally laying the groundwork that would help add to his son's legendary status in the Lone Star State.
Twenty-two years ago, Brad and his wife, Debra, both from Texas, were living just across the New Mexico border in Hobbs. On the day Colt was born, Brad - wanting his son to be a "Texas native" - brought a shoebox full of dirt from his home state to the hospital and placed it under his wife's bed.
In all good legends, the line between fact and fiction is blurred, and this example is no different. While the tale has been widely circulated on the Internet, Brad has reportedly taken the fifth when asked to confirm it, and even Colt isn't 100 percent sure it is true.
My Jags take is looking bad, offense still looks pretty meh at best but they're getting it done.
Just as I bought in to the 1. Chargahs hype they blow up, which is why I've never bought in before! They got me good
Incredible stat I just heard on a pod.
Apparently at one point in yesterday’s game, Jamar Chase led the Bengals with 3 tackles!
fkn crazy that the JOE-less Bengals have as many wins as the Chefs and more wins than BAL over a quarter of the way through the season

Yakity JAX too high
I saw that and laughed. No one believes in Rodgers or the Steelers. It's going to be really hard for the Steelers not to win the division, though.
I'll go ahead and assume the Ravens lose to the Rams. So 1-5 when Lamar hopefully returns and need to probably be at worse 10-7 to win the division, maybe 9-8 gets it done. 8-3/9-2 down the stretch, with both games against the Steelers remaining. The schedule is pretty soft at least, outside of GB and maybe the Pats. @Min and vs Bears certainly aren't guarantees. The rest of the team might be too bad and too injured, even once Lamar returns.
The Steelers schedule is pretty rough. vs GB, vs Colts, @LAC, @Bears, vs Bills, @Lions and then of course the two Ravens games. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose one of the Browns games too.
Would not have Jacksonville any higher than 12 right now. Without Travon Walker the defense has no identity. I understood the philosophy last night but I did not agree with it. Walker has an ability to turn a side of the field so that the offenses want no part of running any offense in that direction. We'll see how they respond vs Seattle on a shorter week. And then the London game. I'm kind of expecting 4-3 going into the bye but will be very happy with 5-2.
