Lots of men are damaged but not nearly at the same rate. I don't know any women who don't have severe emotional issues. It's non stop drama with them. They complain about their co workers. They complain about their ex boyfriends. They complain about their female friends. As I listen to them I can't help but notice how much of this was their doing. They simply don't take responsibility for the consequences of their lives.
The biggest issue is that both sides have expectations that are not being met. Guy's just want to have sex as quickly and as cheaply as possible. Girl's are in the constant search for a guy who wants to be with them and it's not just about sex. They enjoy teasing the guy and denying the guy as long as they can. I've gone on a couple meat ups with a girl. She knows what I want because I told her. She continues to only want to meet up in public places. She has clearly had a bad experience. I shouldn't have to pay for that bad experience. She now is wondering why I don't want to hang out anymore.

I'm not implying I am better or worse than anybody. I think it's 100% obvious that if you feel the need to "express" yourself by how you dress that is 100% ego driven. You don't get all dressed up and go walk in the desert alone do you? You get dressed up for the sole purpose of people noticing you. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying it's clearly egoic and superficial.

but essentially we've largely shamed and reduced toxic masculinity, so much that basically every comedy from the 80s or earlier is just pure cringe
and with that low hanging fruit gone, we've now taken it a step further to find the new edge cases, which is increasingly encroaching upon standard male behavior, so much that we're now experiencing the phenomena of performative males who in order to get laid have learned to pretend to fit into a non masculine roles in order to advertise to women that they are good dating options
