annoying loss
played well
obv hard to be perfect
roughly a 7.5/10
B-tier performance

will give HH

Couple interesting spots

god im scared

230am now n flight to reno starts boarding at 515am

i am absolutely terrified

i guess im scared that i will never get unstuck in the 80 game

stay hopeful. stay resilient. embrace the fear. keep moving forward.

found a great machine at the airport

probably max lose like 1.5-2k at $6 a spin

i have more than an hour before boarding which is plenty

the only thing preventing me from playing is my lack of id.... showing passport n gets 30% of 17.7k taken away makes it super -ev
in addition idk if theres extra taxation related to airport machines

god im stoked. the big loss fuels me gahhhh

How many of the mix you play in contain super stud, is it ever played lot limit?

Only one - wynn 20/40 and 40/80 when ppl call stud and declare to be super

rw 8/16 has pineapple stud

80 game sometimes may have super when summer rolls around n ppl demands it

Stud or super stud when played in bigbet format is often half-pot limit meaning the max raise amount is half pot as opposed to full pot

i played it in joe hollibaugh's 1/3 bigbet mix
larry berg and mike balan's home game has the game as well but i never played in it.

i am a tourist!!!

Congrats on all the love

Why torture yourself in a game you're -ev at? Why not just grind non-nl mtts, you seem to have enough knowledge and enough gamble to be profitable in those. Like, an average 80 table you play on vs an average table in the 600 horse or 1k o8, which one has more people at it that are better than you are?

Yes, the airport machines have an r-tard tax, if you sit at one, you're paying it

The love the sex oh ye!

I complain but i am not getting tortured - i enjoy battling and i enjoy running into new spots. I make it a mission to make it in the cash game scene. Yes, there's money to be made in many spots - smaller cash games or mid tours, but I do not enjoy tournaments at all. My brains get fried so fast calculating the blinds, constantly estimating opps stack sizes n seeing where i am at in the field, devising icm strategies on the spot. Plus, in tournaments you have to run so deep to make significant money - last year one of the 80 players Kenny D made day 3 of 1500 DC at wsop n finished 14th and only made like 6 grand....man.....But i do admit deep runs in tournaments bring a level of excitement that few things can match - still, I simply don't like tournaments.

I stand by my statement that im around the middle of the pack in the 80 game - like last night, esp w ali nejad on massive tilt. I got trip over triped in drawmaha hi and i got rolled for time FOUR times in a row but I am not frustrated. I complain but I still play well.

I have improved a lot since my early days in 80 and today in the car ride I was running through a lot of old rw hands in my head and i cannot count on one hand the amount of money i have punted being inexperienced in mix.

So with more study (my buddy is giving me a triple draw calc to help me) and more analysis i surely will improve; and ted told me Become top 3 in the bellagio/80 economy then go try 3/600 again.

On one hand there is the need (although not urgent) to make money, i want to play in games filled w donks; on the other hand, i want to be a good poker player, i want to battle w the best players - at least be competent and stand sporting chance vs the top.

And just to make another stab at tournament poker - games like wsop main, 250k high roller nlh, 50k ppc, 100k plo Simply are not where the best compete. It has a lot of strong regs and it also has an absence of a lot of strong players.

On making money though, my girl (who also gambles) and i have been talking on the validity of grinding small games and i kind of want to prove to her that a good winrate can be achieved even at 1/2 plo (wynn>aria). Maybe i'll do a little challenge and post it here

tell the peppermill mix regs - i'm here to make money so kick up the stake.

tell the 5/10nl regs - im a fish in holdem but in your guys standard thats a superpro

$5/30min time at 10/20 limit... welp...

apparently this is a drawmaha high game and they give replacement cards Before burn n turn

how good did i play in this hand of nl?

5/10 peppermill

i open off 1200 to 30 KdQs bb covering defends Ac3c

Seems like you view poker as an ego/status thing. Super fair, I think we've all been there, but imo the sooner you can wrap your head around poker being a means to an end and not the end goal, the easier it (and life) gets.

I actually may have to move to Reno next year, how are you finding the games? I hawk bravo occasionally and it seems like the mix only runs some days, any info on that? Was it only drawmaha all day yesterday?

Why check the flop? Or turn? Or river?

Ya, poker is just a tool to transfer $ from suckers like Limon says but we assign meanings ourselves. But high win rate obv comes from big games if you can beat it. Sometimes it feels a little too easy to make money from poker/gambling - hence want to challenge myself by playing games I am a favorite to lose! When I took classes at Cornell, there was a physics prof who I got to know - mukund vengalattore, he does atomic physics, designing basic quantum experiments in his lab, later let go by the dept for being reported by a grad student for sexual harrassment etc. - there was a title 9 lawsuit. Anyway, i asked him once on the validity of myself being a delivery driver in the morning and working on string theory at night myself. he told me - life is meaningless you gotta have some belief n faith in what you are working on, stern and gerlach Are not here to see my work. (stern-gerlach exp is the foundational experiment quantum mechanics is built on....as we are taught) --- There is also a very good reg in sacramento telling me that what separates himself from the pack is his egolessness. --- Saying all this trying to convey that carrying one's ego around absolutely is not a good idea - but it does not contradict one's desire to play the highest of stakes - after all this game is built on (male) egos. We have to learn to control of course.

I was told by my buddy; he used to live here. He spotted a few whales he played before at PM.
I saw the ad on mix but i forgot, there's a flier in the poker room. yest was only drawmaha high.
6players u can draw 3
7players u can only draw 2
extra chip goes to hand instead of board
distribute then burn n turn.

i should cbet flop. idk why i check back.
on turn bb seemed wanting to bet but didn't so i played safe. live tell gone wrong.
river no value w 2nd pair.

I am the worst.

Last time i travelled w someone, dude had two seizures at LAX.

This time I travel, I locked my buddy out of the room all night on accident.

What's next time?

i ask a couple ppl ik what they think my winrate not w v l but hourly winrate would be in wynn 1/2plo and one guy says minus10bigblinds per hour that is so hurtful and the reason he gives is that "Ya no shot you play disciplined ; When all the money on the table combined is same as your previous bets"

feels so hurt as if i would disrespect the grind and the game of poker

lets go!

tempted to take jays +300 top of 2nd but didnt however buddy did at multiple times after game started. GL.

i never seriously bet online before except the one time a couple years ago houston vs lal playoff when westbrook didnt hail mary a buzzerbeater attempy at the end of second quarter

had $800 on rockets ml on acr.

1. i have +120 on heat

2. this is how i keep track my bucks win @ +110

so i made $110

and technically i bet $75 of my own money and cashed for 185$ so i made $110

i only has to risk 75 to win 110 instead of risking 100 to win 110

However.... if bucks had lost i would have put -100 as opposed to -75

this is what i mean by honest gambling
