I would imagine, Chauncey and these other NBA personas are totally relieved right now. They were being extorted by the mob to do their bidding with no way out.
I'm guessing they got into sports betting debt and the "only way out" was to participate in shilling rigged poker rooms and all kinds of sports betting.
Once the mob has you there is no way out.....even if you pay it off.
So this is a great way out and much better then ending up in a hole somewhere.

I’m curious about the tech behind an “x-ray” table. What was it made of, how does it work, did players need glasses to see it, etc etc.
The article said cameras read the X-ray cards and someone viewing those images shared the info via cell.
But they did m3ntion using marked decks with players wearing special contacts to read those cards

Which article mentions RFID? I am reading marked cards. Cards Xray readable while face down. Hidden cameras. And reprogramed shuffle machine. (I presume a DM2 but that could be wrong.)

The DM2 method has nothing to do with RFID. The machine reads the order of the cards while it's shuffling, and you can plug in a small Bluetooth device that relays that info to a nearby phone or computer. Even if the deck is cut all they have to do is enter one card dealt to a player or dealt on the flop. Then they'll know all the cards the players have as well as what the runout will be. At least that's how it worked in a wired episode I saw.

Correct. The DM2 vulnerability is well known and specifically mentioned. But my question was where was RFID cheat mentioned.NumerousChamois stated RFID was mentioned in the article. I don’t see it.
There are some well known poker players who made tens of millions in private games. I wonder if they won that money on skill alone.

In the 80’s, some college players were paid to throw games for Bookies. It took years for that to finally come out to the public.

No. DM2 uses internal camera to identify cards. You can know this because cards with rfid chips are noticeably thicker. Also rfid decks cost more a poker rooms are unlikely to bear this cost.
This was confirmed in the wired hack.
RFID certainly could be used instead of a camera but it was not chosen.
