It seems like there's a lot of conflict and unhappiness in the world these days. It gets me down. One of the few things

Not spoiled at all.

scrolling back through past thread posts and rediscovered this piece of performance art defining cozy times for our knines,
yet in this case the k is not particularly silent

"Ball! Ah, maybe I'll take a nap."

[wakes up]
"Dammit! It's still there. Does somebody expect me to do something with it? Maybe I will. After the sun goes down. Until then ..." [dozes off again]

Final pose on the dock before it comes out for the winter. LadyKiller.

This is Natediggity's Monty:

These pics were from July of 2022. Monty was 13 and I was unsure of whether or not to even have the surgery as his life expectancy was one year. Well the cancer never came back but alas, he was not invincible. Had him put down this morning. He hadn't been eating and was having trouble moving around. I knew it was time when I left for the vet this morning. The vet confirmed with an x-ray. Fluid around the lungs, no sensible options.

Montgomery, aka Monty.
Born: 1/3/2009
Died (peacefully): 10/29/2025

RIP pal

So sorry.

RIP Monty

I am so sorry. RIP, Monty, I'm glad you had a wonderful life.

happy travels Monty, RIP.

Sorry nate.

rip Monty

sorry Nate, thx for sharing with us

RIP Monty. Sorry for you loss, Nate. It's always hard.

16 years for Monty is a hell of a run together, we all hope to be so lucky with ours.

i'll try to lighten the mood a little bit

Niko at 3 months a puppy when she first met my MIL last may vs 20 months this past weekend

Thanks all. And Niko looks like a winner!

I've had to put 3 cats down now. For the previous two I stayed with them during the process. Today the vet asked if I wanted to be there at the end and I said no, I can't do it again. I then quickly changed my mind and am glad I did. When it was over they left the room and I had a couple minutes alone with him. I will cherish those minutes.

One thing that touched me in the euthanasia room was that there was a jar of hershey kisses labeled "every dog deserves to have chocolate once in their life."

Anyway, 16 mostly great, no, awesome years. It was indeed a hell of a run Red.

Ok, let's lighten the mood again. Dom, don't you have some turtle pics you can post?

please keep sharing memories until you get tired of typing
know at least one person who will read them all

Sorry for your loss Nate, it's never easy.

I dressed Parker up over the weekend - plan was for him to sit in a pumpkin and be a pumpkin for a costume contest. He had other plans, however. So he ended up just wearing the pumpkin hat my mom made for him. Lol

Also, picture of my cat, Wrigley, in honor of National Cat Day yesterday.

So cute. I wouldn't want to sit in a pumpkin, either. Wrigley looks exactly like my old cat Ruthless!

Thanks a lot for those pix, Cokeboy!

Titus nearly stepped in my cup of coffee trying to get to Parker. LOL

Most still pictures don't bother him, but some do. Those set him on fire!

Parker just seems appropriately embarrassed. That first dog has maiming and murdering in his eye!

Nate, I'll post some pics of Howard this weekend!

And next animal you have to say goodbye too, you should try Lap Of Love, or equivalent in your area. They come to your house and do it all right there, and leave you with a ceramic paw print and tuft of fur as a keepsake. And your animal isn't traumatized by taking a last trip to the vet. It's a fantastic service. And a little easier on the heart, as the animal never has to leave his favorite bed or couch or lap again.

Thanks Dom. And never thought of Lap of Love or equivalent. I did get tuft of fur as a keepsake which was nice.

My wife belongs in jail.
