Music: What are you listening to today?
In the spirit of the books and movies threads, here's one to talk about what you're listening to lately and what you hav
Never heard this one before.
Interesting video.

My favorite Halloween song. Kenneth Anger used it in his short film, Rabbit's Moon.

Halloween hasn't got long traditions in Norway (though it has gotten more popular in recent years), so I don't really have any 'Halloween songs', but if I did, it'd probably be this one:
As I have mentioned before I listen to my music alphabetically. Finally rolled over today. Last rollover was last October so it takes about a year for me. Finished up with ZZ Top and already got through AC/DC and well into Aerosmith.
Dolly on Porter's show, where it all started.
illuminating the Phat Mack signal
has Ron Carter ever recorded a substandard song?
he and Herbie are basically miles ahead in their tony key stats of willing being some alive and able to relive the greatest shorter days of modern jazz giant theory over the past three-quarter century period

I honestly believe he has never done anything that wasn't at least a couple of sigmas above the norm. I can't imagine him involved with anything that could be described as substandard in any meaning of the word.
I just learned that the three surviving members of Soundgarden occasionally perform as Nudedragons, which is the best anagram I’ve ever heard.
Spoiler
It’s also by far the best thing about it.
Dickey Betts
Seriously one of the greatest American songs ever written. Pure brilliance.
I got a '69 Chevy with a three-ninety-six
Fuelie heads and a Hurst on the floor
She's waiting tonight down in the parking lot
Outside the 7-Eleven store
Me and my partner Sonny built her straight out of scratch
And he rides with me from town to town
We only run for the money, got no strings attached
We shut 'em up and then we shut 'em down
Tonight, tonight the strip's just right
I wanna blow 'em off in my first heat
Summer's here and the time is right
For racin' in the street
We take all the action we can meet
And we cover all the northeast states
When the strip shuts down, we run 'em in the street
From the fire roads to the interstate
Now, some guys, they just give up livin'
And start dying little by little, piece by piece
Some guys come home from work and wash up
Then go racin' in the street
Tonight, tonight the strip's just right
I wanna blow 'em all out of their seats
We're calling out around the world
We're going racin' in the street
I met her on the strip three years ago
In a Camaro with this dude from L.A
I blew that Camaro off my back
And drove that little girl away
But now there's wrinkles around my baby's eyes
And she cries herself to sleep at night
When I come home, the house is dark
She sighs, "Baby, did you make it all right?"
She sits on the porch of her daddy's house
But all her pretty dreams are torn
She stares off alone into the night
With the eyes of one who hates for just being born
For all the shut-down strangers and hot rod angels
Rumbling through this promised land
Tonight my baby and me, we're gonna ride to the sea
And wash these sins off our hands
Tonight, tonight the highway's bright
Out of our way, mister, you best keep
'Cause summer's here and the time is right
For racin' in the street
There is nothing ever written that is as sad and profound as this song. The lyrics I bolded make me cry. This is poetry. This is Shakespeare-level mastery of an art form. You can't convince me otherwise. If Dylan won the Nobel for his songwriting, Bruce deserves one, too.
He wasn't even 30 years old when he wrote this.
