Very toxic experiences yesterday reminded me the drag of live poker. (Making $5, 500 wasn’t so bad though.) being called the biggest nit in the casino by a rude pro to dissuade the out of towner from playing 25/50, the game he wanted to play…being told to lift up my hands and not laugh when asked if I folded already (I moved my hands a cracked a little smile…heaven forbid!), euro pro telling out of towner he’d “buy” him and his wish to start 25/50 was stupid due to the increased rake. Other pro trash talking out of towner when he was away from the table eating dinner claiming he used drugs and didn’t want to pre tip the dealers $35.

I sorta understand why people run private games. No jerks allowed! Unless you’re a fish.

Every poker room has toxic nits so whatdya expect? Everyday I see nits chasing weak players around to different tables, nits poaching whales out of games they can’t get into, nits being hostile to other players who aren’t good for their bottom line while sucking up to whales, nits abusing the dealers, nits trying to fool others they're not the biggest ****ing nit in the casino, and so on….Cant wait to see these nits go on a downswing and lose for months in the games they destroyed!

Heinekenjoe, you must not know the meaning of nit. They are not the types to be hostile, abuse dealers, or fool others. Also, if you aren't changing tables every once in a while to get into a better game or chase the fish, you are not a professional poker player -- just a rec wannabe.

It’s no secret money comes from playing players worse than you. You think the best poker players are out there seeking out the toughest fields reg battling all the time? Is that how they made their fortunes? Lol. No you see them in very good games all the time on live streams filled with action and recreational players.

Last night started at plo where a dude from NC was in town and he handed my butt to me in most pots we played. He’s loose aggressive and we played a lot of pots together. Got mediocre AA all in pre against his rundown and QQJTT against his AKK (he squeezed way wider earlier) and overpair in 3! pot at a low spr lost to his two pair. Got tired of playing a high variance game so played hold em when they called me. Won it all back at 5/10/25 where I got AK all in pre against AQ and AQ won v KQ in 4! pot on JT8…we both missed. A triple barrel ran into a back door flush unluckily in another spot.

I got to play 25/50/100 hold em but was pretty card dead and the blinds add up. Did get a good double KT v T4 T22. Got a good hand in a late position battle and ran into KK behind me unfortunately. Not really feeling it and plo looked better anyway so I left and cut my losses. Made a lot back at 10/10 plo with AQT84ds, flopped top pair nfd gutter and improved over pair plus low wrap for a nice double. Ended up losing a couple grand on the night not bad given I was stuck $7, 500 at my worst.

Playing bigger games really makes poker less fun. The money is serious and so are most of the players. People aren’t friendly. It’s highly competitive and that can bring out negativity. Sorta like trash talk on the basketball court. I miss how things were happier at lower stakes.

Obviously don’t need to state the obvious but…the games they play in have set line ups that are already good and they are not public games where it’s a crapshoot whether you are at a good table or not. The game quality can differ drastically from table to table in public games. Those big name pros don’t need to table change because the game is normally good. We’re not all that lucky.

I’d rather be able to sit in one good game all day rather than ask to change tables. Why don’t you respect the hustle instead of being so negative all the time. I have over 16, 000 hours of hard play time so far and counting.

Cuz I’m the rec who gets hunted and I am sick of nits flocking to my table every time I go to the casino to have a good time. I don’t want to play with yall predatory nits who think I’m too stupid to notice. Yall sleazy hustlers need to get some self respect

predatory nits

lol

You can also change tables if you don’t like playing with certain players you know. And there are many alternatives to live casino poker to get your fix. I’m not the biggest fan of live poker either. I only table change to avoid really bad nitty games.

The reality is people play for a living and there will always be table changes to sit in more profitable games. Sorry that’s bothersome to you. As long as casinos offer table changes, people will table change.

I am not running that well today but at least the 25/50 game organizer got my number and asked if I would fill his game which was a positive if unexpected development. I hope to continue getting into bigger games as my bankroll grows and I take bigger risks while minimizing my losses.

Today I left the game early because I wasn’t feeling it and did not want to lose a lot again. But nice to know I’m invited now. It pays to be a generally nice person sometimes.

Wtf is a predatory nit? if a guy can sit there and play ABC against you printing money that's more on you then him.

Everytime I sit down at a casino game all the mother ****ing nits move over one by one to try to catch me. That’s predatory even if there weak ****ing nits

That’s a blatant lie. Nits like you are actively following specific players around with your 13 table transfers a night. You think we too stupid to notice?

Last night ended on a whimper, not much really going on and a slow night. Today I am hanging with my ex and right now enjoying lattes on the couch in the sun which is quite bright right now. Gonna water the plants and try to get to bed early as I have a Tuesday morning hearing.

Trying to remember how blessed I am also around thanksgiving time. There are a lot of forces that can try to bring your happiness down in life but you can control a lot as well by maintaining gratitude.

Good things: family friends pets plants coffee sun exercise fulfilling job poker income people to share hands with mental and physical well being. Good music. Feeling loved by my family. A table with birthday cards to remind me of that. Having developed expertise in multiple areas (law and poker). A massage chair. A rowing machine. People on this thread who have my back and support me on this journey.

I will and then you nits will cry about games being bad and no one paying off your AA

Some happiness in photos…

Had a great afternoon with my ex then played. Big mix ran so I joined and bantered with my lawyer friend. Was up early on but lost my profits back slowly before leaving for plo. Had a good win with a T low in 2-7 dramaha and in triple draw made a wheel off of a 3-card draw. The rest of the session I just was card dead and whiffed but I played snug. I did lost a pot in 2-7 dramaha with a J8 low the draw got there both ways against me.

Jeremy Ausmus started a vlog, which is really cool. Nice to get into the mind of such a successful player.

I wrapped up prep for my hearing tomorrow and hope to god I hope I get a decent judge. The prep that goes into these state hospital hearings is much longer over a week or two and getting an unsympathetic judge is really demoralizing as it in the quick turnaround community hospital cases. Even worse when you’ve worked longer on a case and your client has been locked up for years.

Feeling low. I think I just need to accept that with my condition and prescription I will always have periods of sadness, sadly.

I would probably be happier if I was winning in the big mix.

Good interview with Patrik Antonius.

State hospital hearing went fine and my supervisor said he thought I would win the desired result. Jnandez has an excellent video on the coin poker cash plo game competition it all resonated very well.

Went to bed early after an uneventful session and got 12 hours of sleep. Glorious!

After the recent sell off, invested more in the market.

Listening to music on the couch sipping on lattes. Cloudy out but I’m in a good mood because the hearing is over.

Played big mix made one mistake that cost me some extra bets when the kill was on but the rest were just bad luck. None of my lows held in 2-7 dramaha even when I connected well with the flop. The hand I overplayed was a 97 low in that game with two pair as well after everyone drew. I was second best for the low half and drawing slim for Omaha. Pat T6 lost to a deceptively played 98 in that game too. Left for hold em .. time to run it back in games I am very good at. At least if I lose in the mix I can more than make up for it in the other games.

Edit: AA lost all in pre to KQs. Lol.

Lost some more at hold em and left for plo where I made $650 to wrap up the night on a higher note. Still an irritating loss though not record-breaking. Not looking like itÂ’s gonna be as good of a month as I was expecting at this point. Enjoying vanilla lattes and almond milk on the couch with some light music playing in the background.

Do you only play at mgm?
