living out of my car in los angeles....
Hello 2p2. My name is Rick. I'm a 30 year old poker player from Los Angeles, California. I've been playing poker sinc
i would have never shown the bluff
Your play was a masterpiece Rick, this well time show will pay dividends going forward they will continue to chatter and gossip about you in mandarin or Cantonese whatever it may be.
Hope you did the windmill variety of bluff display with sound effects and celebratory gestures and noises for good measure it's too dour in the live poker streets for my tastes
I'll join your gang my hair is already long and greasy, don't have a leather jacket but I have. A woolen smock made at one of those old timey pioneer Renaissance fairs that's way to big for me perhaps I'll wear it to the poker room soon and report back good luck sir.
Yes I agree this is the right move and I regret showing. I should have just kept bluffing this guy more than usual until I got picked off. Honestly I don't play there that much so it's not that terrible of a mistake but if I was going in every day it would be even more egregious. I need to start mixing it up and going to different casinos as well anyway.

I didn't windmill the bluff but when I showed K9dd a couple of players said "Oh professional", "This guy's a professional", so I had them impressed regardless. Di came over to the table later and was sitting to my left and folding any time I raised and talking about respecting my game or something. All stuff that will inflate my ego and get me to play worse for sure. I have to be careful.
Dude! I wear a big Italian wool overcoat and a black Stetson Bozeman hat like I'm in the wild west when I play poker. That'll be our gang theme everyone wears some sort of anachronistic outfit. You're Renaissance Man, I'm Wild West. Who else wants to join our poker gang?
It takes courage to just call a 3bet with aces preflop instead of 4betting. It takes a lot of courage to let a guy possibly get there on you when you could have ended the hand right there or made him put in more money with the worst of it. But the way to make money with aces sometimes isn't to just go buckwild preflop and 4bet it, it's better to just call sometimes. You gotta be laying in waiting, setting the trap. Can't be scared. Make the play you know is best let the chips fall where they may.

Sometimes of course you do want to be getting it all in preflop with aces. Use your best judgement. Some days poker just seems easy. Need to stay zen.

Sometimes courage looks like a triple barrel bluff. But discretion is also key to winning. You can't go blasting every hand, that's foolishness. Pick your spots, don't be afraid when you know it's a good spot. Sometimes you'll look like a fool but again you just have to make the best play and not worry about the results.

Ended up 5600 yesterday. Pretty damn good. Sometimes you just get into a flow state and it feels like the decisions are intuitive.
i have no online streets experience in past decade or so - how would you quantify the strength of those tables
would you say it's typical to be playing against so many guys you have so few hands against or is that the nature of the churn?
ie are these highly curated table selections?
A stastical anomaly that's for sure. The sort of day that can trick me into thinking I'm a much better player than I really am. It felt great though to just keep playing and keep winning at an incredible pace. If only poker were always that easy.

You can't force anything. Games are pretty tough actually I'd say except for the occasional fish that's Playing 70/5 or something.
I'm not curating my table selection too much. If I'm losing more than 50bb at any table I'll usually pick up and find a new table. My theory is that opponents play better and with more confidence vs losing players and less vs winning players. If I've got 4 open tables I might close the worst one and try to get into a new game if I can but I'm not sweating it too much.

Somehow I'm on pace to beat last Saturday's tremendous session. It's Saturday morning cartoons. These aren't real people these are cartoon characters and this is free money.

What is he trying to accomplish here? He blocks the straight flush with the 8 of hearts and blocks some boats with the 7, but it's an insane raise vs. my river sizing. I bet 3/4 on the river that's fairly polarizing like is he trying to get me to fold some kind of weak jack? It's an insane bluff I'm going to check in 24hours the other players hands.
I'm the wrong player to try to bluff here if I had a J9 or something I'd probably just sigh call it off like an idiot. I need to fold more rivers lol, but at least I'm aware of it that's the first step. I have too many leaks and sometimes I play extra leaky. NO MORE!!!
Blue line goes up, red line goes down. I'm not trying to be "that guy". A red line hero. That's foolishness. You win money by making good hands and getting paid.

This is the sort of hand that if I was losing at the table and I tried this, it wouldn't work and I'd get picked off. Being up makes this delayed cbet much more profitable. That's why my table selection is mostly just picking up if I'm down because I don't want my opponents to think they can get any money off of money. I want them to think I'm better than them and unbeatable.
This hand was a really good bluff. It works because it's against a guy that I've been playing a few hundred hands against and his turn 1/4 pot lead when we're as deep as we are really signals he doesn't want to risk his stack on this hand. Best he can have realistically here is aces with the ace of diamonds and he's got a few hundred hands of me playing pretty solid so this just won't look like a bluff to him. It will look greedy and be an easy fold for him. I just went with my gut that his 1/4 pot on the turn meant he was scared to play for stacks.

Are you still playing on Iggy? And winning some again but have switched to cash games not tourney grinding? I always wondered where the fish on that site came from, China or Europe or where, there are so many punters and few in the US seem to play on Iggy, people don’t really talk about it much at least.
I like the bluff with the pair and heart on the river CR from the hand above, it’s a good hand to share, you have to have a flush there to call basically unless you know he’s capable and can actually hero call with a weak J etc. If the player can play well I’d just move on to the next table.
Have you experienced the notorious Ignition disconnect issue on their end that times out your hand mid pot? Happened to me a few times so I stopped re-depositing after winning a lot for a while. Did not enjoy losing a $3k pot to a bs timeout.
I never felt cheated like I did on ACR or Chico where the shady backend software is supposedly crooked and certain high end employees can see your cards, cards ahead, and can and do play against you and cheat you.
Are your cashouts crypto based? Or do you manage to get it from them another way like check or wire? Do you get a tax form from a crypto intermediate if so or it’s clean and off the record?
have you ever considered coaching?
what are your thoughts on the hungry horse boys - they seem to be in your locale

Yeah still playing on iggy. I'm doing tourneys and cash games both. Both are fun and I like to stay sharp in both arenas. I'm always trying to hit a big score in a tourney.
Thanks yeah and that hand works better against an opponent that's been sitting there for a while with me and hasn't witnessed me get out of line at all. Yeah disconnects happen all the time and five times on Sunday. It's awful.
I use crypto then deposit to my bank it's all above board. I used to have to get checks from Bodog/Bovada and it was always from Singapore or Canada or something and the bankers would give me a hard time trying to cash it.

Coaching? Not so much. I give my friend some pointers. He's got a youtube channel he's trying to get going about poker maybe check it out. Poker Revive. Give him a subscribe he's a cool guy.
I've watched a few hungry horse videos and they're pretty good. I think about making youtube videos, I need to just go ahead and do it. And I could stream on twitch too. That's where the real money is at, the content.

Maybe this doesn't look like a big deal to you but I promise you most people would just jam the turn or check jam the turn or check the river only to have it get checked back. This line I took here is a work of art and the result of building up a massive game tree in my mind. I know most people jam or check jam the turn because that's been my inclination so often in similar spots and when I've done that I've gotten folds from hands that have little to no outs. Very lucky he had QQ here and not JJ or TT but if he has me beat then good for him.
This hand is art. What you can't see in the hand history is where the art is. The timing. Snap calling on the turn. I can remember thinking I needed to call the turn and I needed to call lightning quick to induce a bluff on the river and make sure strong one pair hands remain confident. Because a snap call there is always a weak top pair at best sort of hand. It's what bad players do to project confidence on their weak holdings. Now maybe this guy would have continued bluffing the river no matter what my timing was but timing definitely makes a difference. And timing tells from opponents are also a thing.
