I'd argue that Cuba came closest (in modern times) but failed to liberate its people from dictatorship and failed to liberate all of its criminals with one way tickets to the US but on the other hand every single adult was paid the same amount by the government, and was guaranteed quotas of rice, and everyone knows its adult literacy and child health were among the best in the world.

I didn't express any opinion about whether any particular government adhered strictly to communism as defined by Karl Marx. My point was that the governments that claimed to be standard bearers for communism have a poor track record.

In fairness to you, I have known at least one highly intelligent person in a professional capacity who refused to be bothered with grammar or typos in email communications. Clients, work colleagues, the government. It didn't matter. He was typing blindfolded as best I could tell, and he certainly wasn't proofreading the email before he hit send.
