Las Vegas Casual Dining Thread
We have the fine dining thread, but everyone needs some good casual places to eat, either on the strip or local. I'm fi
PSA - La Barbecue from Austin TX has a pop up at Fountainbleau today through December 14. Some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had, top 2 brisket (was my #1 until I tried Franklin’s). Very highly recommend going to this, I’m going to go tonight:
I’m wondering how close it will be to the actual Austin version.
I live in Austin, and LA BBQ is definitely fire, strongly recommend. I'm in Vegas Sun-Wed and considering it even though I can have it here haha.
Well hell I’ll be out there Sunday to Wednesday as well. Guess I’ll have to sneak away from my MGM food and bev comps and pay with actual cash money. Sounds like it’s well worth it.
Damn. I just left fontainebleau yesterday.

La Barbecue did not disappoint, except they were sold out of sliced brisket by 615 pm so that was the only downside. The pulled pork and jalapeño sausage was every bit as good as the Texas location.
Brisket tacos - 8.5/10 (shredded pieces, need more bark/sliced brisket inside)
Pulled pork - 10/10
Sausage - 10/10
Mac and cheese - 6/10
Pickles - 10/10
Potato salad - 7/10 super mustard-y
$57, not bad. Coming back tomorrow for brisket (hopefully)

I wish there were some kinda ribs there, pulled pork hasn’t done it for me in a long time, I would mostly just be about brisket/sausage, and I do love a mustard tater salad…your pics do be looking strong.
Can anybody confirm if Edo Gastro Tapas on Jones is open? Is it still the same (excellent) experience?
I'm asking, as Google insists it's temp closed, and Eater reported half a year ago that it's "expected to remain closed for a short time, while it gets a new name, a small update to the design, and an entirely new menu."
None of which stopped me from making an OpenTable reservation a couple of weeks from now ... just want to be sure .... thank you

Edo no longer exists. It’s now Amador Cocina Fina, their IG is @amadorcocinafina
Thanks! I guess no one in this thread has been there?
It's kind of weird that Edo's website is still active
But, it appears the reservation system overlaps - when I tried to book at table at Amador, I get the message "The email address provided has been used already to confirm a reservation within two hours of this time" (my reservation made on the Edo site).
The tasting menu is up $9 to $89, but to my naked eye it doesn't look substantially different what what we have seen before ... :p

I went there today and I'm sorry to say it was not very good. My brisket was slightly above room temperature and pretty dry.
I attribute this to me going at 5:00 and this being a pop up location. From what I know those Texas places are often closed by 2:00 and I think they just wound up having to keep the meat warm longer than they usually do.
The flavors were good. The sauce was quite good. Potato salad was good. I'm willing to give it another try, earlier in the day, because I think it would be good under better circumstances.
While I'm on the subject, St George has a place called Pica Rica that was numbed the 7th best BBQ outside of Texas by Texas Monthly, which I guess is the authority on such matters. The online reviews are good, but not as enthusiastic as the magazine. Personally, I thought it was excellent.
Love the review, how does Guerilla compare to Red Dwarf and Pizza Rock’s Detroit style?
A coworker from Michigan mentioned them like 2 days before this post. We tried it last week. The pizza and knots were great. I ordered mild wings but it didn't look like they were sauced at all. Just be warned they are more personal sized pizzas. If we did delivery instead of pick up we would have been screwed.
I hope they gave you enough bread to mop up that grease
independent from the taste, that is a vv poor choice of presentation
by definition hash - in any form - is a mix of of several ingredients together, yet that method of serving in a cutsie too-small cast iron skillet with everything crowded together under beautiful toast perched on the handles provides almost zero opportunity to explore your own blended bites of flavor
Toasted has great bloodys. The first time I ate there, thought it was really good, and it has gotten worse each time.
Is it just me or is Pronto at CP really bad?
stupid question but how is the chik fil a lines during peak hours on the strip? it says they close at 1145 per site but i have been told its actually 1030-11 weekdays and weeknights
Recent 2 day food trip to Vegas.
Chamon for lunch - they have Wagyu Tempura bowl and Negitoro bowl that have limited portions. Open at noon, and we got there at 11:55am and didnt make the first round of seating and then the Wagyu Tempura sold out. But the Negitoro is really good.

Jipata for dinner - not going to post any new pics cause there's many, but just a banger after banger
Moignet for breakfast/snack - depends on fruit, but they have fantastic mochi beignets, and their sandwiches are great too. Croque Madam and the Porkbelly/Egg were the ones we got
Stubborn Seed for happy hour -
- Burger 10/10
- Kushi Oysters 9/10
- Iberico Ham Fritters 9/10 ( i loved them, but really cheesy)
- Sake-Citrus Cured Yellowtail 10/10
- Whole Roasted Cauliflower 9/10

Got a quick trip to LV planned with my gluten intolerant daughter. Looking for any recommendations for a gluten aware casual restaurant near strip, Arts District, downtown or Chinatown. She will probably be doing her own research (self-preservation FTW) but I'll happily take any local knowledge that may be available. She likes Thai, Chinese, sushi, steak, etc Used to love pasta/Italian, but has had to curtail her intake. It's hard to find decent GF pasta.
Tia,
What's the consensus on BrewDog at MGM? The open air, roof top location looks like a great place to get a beer and some bar food.
