This discussion group absolutely detests set mining unless they're getting like 20:1 in position, and the reason they usually claim is that it's too hard to make money from V's OPs when you hit. Often with something snide about it no longer being 2015, etc...
It can't be both.
Well even if someone's range is literally 2.5% and they stackoff TPTK+, then roughly 50% of their range isn't stacking off on any given board. AK/QQ+ is lowkey a decently balanced range.
And sometimes people have hands that are worse than the top 2.5% of hands.
And sometimes sets lose.
And sometimes villain doesn't stack off with overpairs, though that is not the same as saying that they fold often enough to jam almost 2x pot with a 2-outer.
We're poker players; we should all be conversant speaking in probablistic--not deterministic--terms.
