Interview were fine today, had a cheerful discussion with a client who was discharging about politics meds etc. “they expect you to be able to work on these meds!”

Poker went fine ran ok at 10/25 and plo and made $2, 000. Looking forward to resting more today and tomorrow after my (maybe) hearing today.

Had a bizzarre dream we were in the future and there was a war and a young girl was knocked down and started crying and her dad was stuck in a concrete block with his frizzy hair sticking out of the side.

Hi Dumbo, good to see you are still crushing which should be enough to silence all the haters! I was wondering how do you keep your variance so low when you’re playing games as big as 10/25 NL? Like how do you consistently win 1k or 2k a day? For high stakes I would expect bigger swings! I play 2/5 NL which is five times smaller and I rarely have sessions where I only win or lose $200 lol. Usually I’m up or down a grand at least and it’s incredible how you can have the same kind of swings as me at 10/25 and consistently win! I want to move up but if I play 10/25 I would probably have 10k swings easily which I cannot stomach until I grow my bankroll!

You need to channel your inner nit. If your vpip is over 5% you're doing it wrong.

Quiet troll, let the people who actually win at poker speak

I have had bigger losses ($10,000) too but they don’t happen super often and I’m usually done by then. I only buy in around $3,000. That reduces the swings a lot. One thing I do is I generally avoid taking marginal spots now, something I’ve adjusted over the past few months to reduce my leaks. I don’t want to get into more details because I don’t know who is reading and I want to maintain my edge since the competition always gets better. I do feel like I have an edge over most players though these days and can win in even tougher fields.

Last night played plo and won $2k easily in an hour or so during my break, played plo after work and lost $800 but made $1,100 at 10/25/50. Towards the end of the night I was getting tired and not playing as well so I was at my peak so decided it was time to go home. Plus the game was not good it was mostly tight regs now. Made $150 at the mix too. Profited around $2,500 on the day. This month is starting like last month, in like a lion. I’m up $14,000 in only 45 hours of play. And luckily the big mix is in Vegas all month so I won’t have to worry about playing that game and potentially reducing my profits...!

Lattes…what a beautiful routine.

Don’t mind the trolls anymore…livens up the thread.

"Don’t mind the trolls anymore…livens up the thread.'

I appreciate that. It's not easy keeping it real.

My hourly has gone way up at 5/10 this year (probably due to the frequent straddling) and up a little at plo as well. Yippie! Seems like I play better when I play less and my edge continues to show itself.

The much lower volume also meant less profit compared to last year by around half but I have job income too so I didn’t lose too much in exchange for new life experiences and contributing to society.

Made $3, 200 on the day when all was said and done. Ran well played well enough. Made a good laydown with top two gutter in a bloated pot and V had top set. Money saved is money earned.

Looking like I can take it easy this weekend as no hearings likely on Monday.

Enjoying vanilla and newly discovered delicious hazelnut lattes on the couch now. (They put hazelnut in my order by mistake but I’m not complaining at all.) Getting very cold outside! A lot of my poker friends are in Vegas, a little jealous they are in warmer weather now.

Client interviews this afternoon then I’m home free for the weekend.

Plo 1/2/5 hourly this year is over $106, 5/10 is over $187. Let’s go!

Well the sun run this month took a pause yesterday! Bah humbug! Stared out losing to QJs all in pre at 10/25 for V’s $1, 700, then lost AA to 55 in a 3! pot on 552Q2 in a really annoying way in a $4.5k pot involving no snap call and a request to see my hand first. Maybe it’s old school etiquette but you’re not supposed to make people show the losing hand if you know you have the winner …with quads no less.

Got to play 25/50/100 hold em and lost squid game once and didn’t really get anything going. 3! Once to $1400 over a btn open and bb call and won that hand. I was tired and left for an easier game and wrapped up with plo. K9654ds lost to KQT42 (don’t ask me how lol) on J35 in a bloated pot, pretty unnecessary punt but I was trying to get it heads up with an overlay but the good old KqT42 tagged along anyway for $1, 050 preflop lol.

Today is a reset day, gonna enjoy hazelnut lattes out of my rise and grind mug exercise and maybe have a massage. I’d been running so good I forgot what this felt like. Eew! At least most of my losses were due to run bad not play bad. That makes me feel better. And a punt late into the session well I had a reason for it and it is on me to be playing in those circumstances, self compassion though as I did witness a client with stitches in his neck from his suicide attempt during my interviews early that day.

Sorry about the run-bad. At least you got it over with 😉

What a douche for asking to see your hand. Seriously.

Thanks, I think it was revenge for his friend for something that happened a long time ago involving him using the f bomb against me.

Appreciate it! I ran ok yesterday and made around $1, 000. Now waking up to hazelnut lattes on a sunny couch listening to jazz music. What a life.

Got off the phone with the hospital and they are planning on discharging my client tomorrow which is good news for him and me because I don’t have to prep for any hearings.

I got slowrolled my first hand last night and then the slow roller tried to make change for me (I raised to $75 with a black $100 chip and he gave me four greens) and I quickly returned his dirty slowrolling chips to him. Third slowroll in 24 hours and I had enough of it. It wasn’t even a big pot just the cumulative effect of them all set me off. I asked him if I ever did his mother and what did I ever do to him to deserve a slowroll.

Is slowrolling common in your room or does it seem like it's only happening to you?

$55, 000 left on the challenge. Shoot for the moon end up in the starts. Not bad!

I think it may have to do with the fact that I’m one of the biggest winners in the room, it gives people a sense of control over a situation where they are pretty powerless.

Do you notice it happening to other big winners, or is slow rolling isolated to you?

This player spread a false rumor that I angled him in a hand which might have something to do with it, but I can’t be certain.

The hand went like this - He raised utg I 3! to $125 out of the bb and he called with $350 behind. I started with close to $1, 000. I checked flop he jammed in position I snap called and he lost. I didn’t even make him show. He never asked to see my stack. AFTER he realized he lost he claimed he could not see my chips behind my hands (I covered by a lot and had just sat down) and called the floor. Which is funny because he might have had $50 more than the table minimum. The floor found nothing wrong of course and awarded me the pot. I was not intentionally hiding my chips anyway I just have a habit of holding my hands in front like that and sometimes that obscures my stack. He threw his chips angrily across the table toward me and a week later called me a scam artist and a lying lawyer in front of everyone and said he’d file an ethics complaint against me. I threatened to sue him for defamation. He has not shut up about it since.

Because he’s a losing player regs who had an axe to grind against me sided with him even though his complaint was totally spurious.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

You seem like a smart guy, so I assume it's intentional that you ignored answering my question twice.

scam artist 😀

by Rolled High, Bro

I was just saying maybe the reason I was targeted with the slow rolls was because of the false rumor. Not trying to ignore you . I don’t know how often it happens to other winning players that’s not possibly something I could keep track of.

Don't you mean his father since you're a gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Last night ended up making back some of my losses from plo earlier at 5/10, at plo lost KK in 3! pot at a low spr with trips and ran into better trips, also lost with a big wrap to top set and AQQT9ds to some trash in a 4! pot when he flopped pair and open ender. Top set got outdrawn by a straight draw as well.

Overheard a regular 2/5 player who asked for the new structure with no straddle say they would play the new 5/10 structure if so many regular 5/10 players were not playing.

I remember when I was first trying out 5/10 years ago I was intimidated by the 5/10 regs for a while but I just played my game and eventually it worked out.

Invested in bonds today, realized I didn’t have any and needed to increase my allocation.

Just got confirmation of no hearings today.

Mods, why is TheFranz still allowed to post? I realize I can block him, but I shouldn't have to.

Dumbo, not an angle. If he wanted to know how many chips you had, he could have asked. We all know this. It's especially funny, though, knowing he had only $350. LOL.

This specific player has had it out for me after someone got banned for kicking me in the shin. He was looking for any excuse. I think he has some loose screws, and that’s coming from me!

Maybe you'll get him as a client 😉

I’m pretty sure I’d have to recuse myself due to a conflict of interest …!!!
