Hey Schu! I completely forgot about this thread...glad its still going. I tricked Street Poker Chick into spending a winter in the mountains of Utah. My evil plan worked (she fell in love with it) and we have been here since.
Hows life in Vegas my man?
Hey stranger! Good to see you.

Fantastic dude... stay cool and good to hear that you are okay post C19
Utah is the coldest place I've ever been in my life.
I grew up in VT, went to college in UT and now live in ND.
Utah is a beautiful place. I miss that weather
I grew up in the Chicagoland area. Then I went to college at the University of Michigan. Then after graduation I moved back to my hometown in the Chicagoland area. Cold, cold and more cold. I hate being cold, yet I keep choosing to live in the cold. I hope it's nice and comfy warm in heaven because I've spent way too much of my life being cold.

My buddy and I went to Vegas. and wanted to ski one of the days. We drove to Cedar City? Brianhead maybe? I can't remember but it was around there. The radio said the temp at the town that was at the base, was 10 below. We said ruh roh, we both lived in AZ and didn't have extreme cold weather gear. Consider the ski resort base was a few thousand feet higher than the town, and the top of the ski mountain was a couple thousand higher than the base. We got there, it was still 10 below in the town, no idea how cold it was at the base, but we literally couldn't move. Just shivering in our ski parkas and hoping the shivering would warm us up enough to actually ski. It must have been 20 or 30 below, several thousand feet above the town. After half an hour of shivering I could finally move enough to go ski.

I can think of another place to hang out in the afterlife. You're definitely not going to be cold there.
Yeah, luckily for him, we gamblers are going to end up in the warm place.
anyone who lives in LV knows normally there is only bad stuff in the Walmart parking lot at the corner of Rainbow & Spring Mountain. so what a surprise it was to finally come across something cool at lunch today:

this is a land jet owned by Jim "Jet" Neilson (pictured sitting)! 50,000 horse power and this type of vehicle owns land speed world records reaching speeds over 400 MPH. I asked Mr. Neilson what the sensation was like when the speed really kicks in. He said it knocks the breath out of you.
He was also selling autographed T-shirts and I bought one for $25. He said he's in town to film a scene for a movie on the Strip. I did ask him where and when but he said he couldn't tell me where but they were waiting for a part to come in from Canada as far as the when goes. So ASAP when the part arrives.
That is pretty awesome... well worh 25 slackers.
Its always been one my todo list to make it out to the salt flats...
Has everything got as expensive as everyone is saying on Vegas Reddit?
The corporate casino hotels have gotten super stupid expensive. Some of the independents are dropping fees and prices to combat the drop in visitors.
Makes me really happy that we bought an off-market timeshare in 2009. Worth every penny today 😉
The post went up July 5th when you could still book it. What's the problem Chad?
Comped at the Wynn with "no resort fees."
Go to log into the web and get a message saying internet is $20 a day because I didn't pay resort fees.

That shouldn't have been a surprise; that's one of the things that places routinely say the resort fee covers. Don't be surprised if you can't use the business center or exercise room either.
It is a surprise because the property is comping the stay. It's not like Wynn asked if he wanted to opt in/out of the resort fee. They said it's all comped.
ES2 - You should just make sure to ask for the internet fees to be taken off on the back end. If you have a host I'm sure they will handle it for you, otherwise talk to a host on property before you leave. If you low play them you might be SOL, but if your play justifies Wynn comps, you probably qualify for some back-end comps, too.
