English Football Season 2025-2026. Here we go again.
Welcome 2+2 to the English football season of 2025-2026.
This year I am going to make the thread officially for all of E
Much more than occasional:
Not sure why, but he does not give teribad vibes. More like the occasional brainfart ala Ramsdale
We have many problems and Vicario is just one of them, waaaaaay more concerning is the inability to create anything at all going forward, I've not seen the breakdown but I'd wager we are in bottom c.5 in xG.
We seem to have a lot of the ball but then absolutely no clear cut chances. Doesn't help when you're trotting out Richarlison up top who has an amazing inability to find any space at all, but there's also zero creativity aside from occasional flashes from Kudus (and Xavi I guess recently). Hopefully Maddison or Deki will help but I'm not feeling all that hopeful lol.
Needs a full 3+ year reset (which we've needed since the late 2010s but instead of allowing Poch to be in charge of doing it we instead signed, literally, no-one for a full year and fired him.
I am hoping the new bosses take a leaf our of Brighton/Bournemouth/Brentford/Arsenal books in terms of recruitment/management.
The £300k a week siege tower.
lol mun
moyes fist pump dot jiff
That was an amazing game. 40 shots, 4-4. United attack and defense is the poorly drawn half horse meme
was hard to believe but i heard today that MUN hasn't lost a home game in which they led at halftime since May 1984
They've lost plenty when they haven't led at halftime though.
It's a very cherry picked stat. Saying they haven't been outscired by 2+ goals in a seconfd half at home doesn't sound half as impressive.

Their streak of doing it is like 2x as many games as second place though, and miles more than the vast majority of teams. It is unbelievably impressive.

Poch is a very average manager who blinked the best Spurs team since god knows when and won nothing. He signed 2 good players in 5 years - Son and Toby. Wanyama and Trippier were okay, the rest were largely garbage and we lost big money on the likes of Sissoko, Davison, Ndombele and Lo Celso.
Highly unlikely putting him in charge of the rebuild would have made any difference.
Pep could leave City at the end of the year reports say.
This is just a sick tactic to hunt us down from the top and win the EPL again and then stay again to ruin our lives for another 10 years.

Maybe not, but chopping and changing demonstrably doesn't help either. Plus smart decision to hire Mourinho LOL.
I also disagree that he's an average manager (Southampton he obv did well at and he also did much better at Chelsea that he gets credit for, they were actually playing well it was a LOL decision to sack him).
It obviously helps to bink our best ever player in Kane, but tough to argue that he didn't make players like Rose / Walker / much better and then we made a CL final with Winks and Sissoko at CM. Lots of failures in recruitment obv (though you're forgetting Dele). But in the last 6 years since he left have we recruited any better on average (just for more money)?
Also "won nothing" I hate because we won something under Ange and I'm not sure it's fair to say we were a better team last year than at any point in 2014-2019.
I am not hopeful we are good again at any point soon but I guess you have to give the new board etc some time before they ultimately continue to leave us poisoned.
At least the Bears are well coached at the minute, because England cricket is also making me cry.

I don't disagree significantly with much of what you said. I would say that Dele would have been a club signing regardless of who was manager, Walker was young player of the year and in the PL team of the year before Poch came, and Rose came off the back of a season where he was Sunderland's player of the year. They were always decent and I don't disagree they improved under Poch, but they may have improved in spite of rather than because of.
The winning thing is totally fair. Too many times he made derpy player choices in the cups. Win something before you start giving out participation award ffs.
But yeah, the less said about the cricket the better.

Man you must really hate yourself. A Spurs AND Bears fan is something else.

I fully applaud you for adopting The Beloved as your NFL team from your time in Chicago. But holy F do you enjoy punishment!!!! I was born into this!
The irony of you supporting the Cubs is that you thankfully didn’t experience the whole cycle of it all. Friends of mine experienced 84 as kids and then 03 with Bartman before finally getting theirs in 16.
I’m a white Sox fan, so I just bask in an extra special level of pain😆😆😆

My wife is from Chicago and we met in 2003, just before the Bartman game LOL
Yeah as I only started watching baseball in 98, 99ish the amount of time the curse of the bambino affected me was a lot less than most
This Liverpool Spurs match might as well be in the championship
Romero *♂️
It’s like Richarlison knows we talked **** about him. I swear he’s scored like every game since.

His goalscoring record is actually really good, especially if you look at goals per minute. Which seems ridiculous but it is true.
He is still the single most frustrating player I think in my lifetime.
