Is The Epstein Pivot That Big A Deal

Sounds like a weak attempt by certain conservatives to devoid themselves of blame.

All we know about Bill Clinton is that he hung out a bit with Epstein as friends, but there's been no victim that I know of that accused him.

The 150 victims that Epstein's estate paid damages to never named him.

Numerous women have accused Trump of molesting them... but underaged? We don't know yet. Unlikely at this point.

After Epstein committed suicide, his estate in 2021 settled lawsuits coming from 150 victims. To me its odd that those victims only named Epstein and Ghislaine...

I have been saying for awhile there are 2 possibilities:

1. Epstein and Ghislaine did their abuse alone in a private capacity, and there is no conspiracy.

2. Everything is being covered up and will continue to be, regardless of who takes power in 2026.

--Either way, there will be no payoff for this moral panic. Other than political payoffs for the people pushing the panic. And most of them are not people you want to have political payoffs.

It literally is a cult. There are masses of people who support Trump even though they are getting their healthcare dropped or losing their businesses, all while he added $2 billion in personal wealth in the last year. They still support him even though they are taking the worst of it.

However, since this is a leader of an entire country, there will be people who support him just because of a specific belief they've always held, such as hating immigrants, but there are people who have been programmed to believe brown people are taking away their jobs, housing, healthcare, etc. through a decade-long indoctrination of Trump/Miller propaganda.

The amount of frothing at the mouth anger the MAGA base suddenly had for Canada because we wouldn't drop our pants for Trump was hilarious to observe.

But they suddenly lost it too for the next shiny object.

Canada actually has much bigger problems than Trump as far as foreign interference goes. Trump is causing problems now, but will be gone in a couple years. And Canada is taking actions to insulate themselves moving forward from US capriciousness.

Canada has much bigger problem moving forward with nations like Iran, China and India interfering in its politics through diaspora populations. With a large part of the problem being the refusal of the political establishment to address the problem in any serious fashion so far.

So there is just no accountability for the decision makers?

MAGA is not a cult. 95 % of Trump supporters would not literally drink the Kool Aid if he asked them to. Most of them simply like the things he says/does to the point where they are willing to endure policies that many know might hurt them, to continue having that enjoyment/satisfaction of having the president talk/act that way.

Okay, but when folks start prioritizing emotional gratification from their leader over their own self interest...it shows the hallmarks of a cult.

I've said this before but the dems need a recession if they want to win. A small fraction of farmers losing their crops while being compensated as a result of Trump's tariffs isn't going to move the needle. You need about a 10% unemployment rate due to the retaliatory effects that involves about 10-20 million Americans. Then a small fraction of those may decide to sit out or change their vote.

Again, most don't know or care about what is going on with Epstein, Russia, or the Israelis fighting the Palestinians. I think they need to feel something that is far more tangible than high rent prices with 4% unemployment - something similar to 08.

But a new batch of a million documents were supposed to be released that Trump is desperately trying to prevent from being released and there are boatloads of other documents that have Trump's name redacted, but they messed up some documents like item 17 above, or the ones where they used black highlighter and could be removed, so it's kind of hard to find smoking guns when they release batches of documents where 90% of the pages are fully blacked out.

Even if he had a really good excuse in their minds, like the reasons he gave them to storm the US Capitol Building and be possibly killed or jailed to save the country for their children?

The more general point, which applies to a lot more than this one subject is the propensity fo people to be too forgiving of nasty stances with the comment "if I was brought up that way I would think that also". Their forgiveness deoesn't require that other person to h have fallen into a cult. The problem is that such forgiveness renders most discussions irrelevant, Because maybe its you that has the wrong idea due to your upbringing. In order for you thoughts to be taken seriously it is necessary that you believe that you would have stuck to your guns even if you were subject to that other upbringing or social pressure.
