new thread title:
2025 NFL Season Thread: We need more Bork license plates in the gift shop.
Kinda insane after this ****ing year, losing everyone that was lost, losing Trent on the first play, all they need to do is beat Darnold and they guarantee for better or worse their final game this season is at home
Kyle should be in with a chance of COTY - they always give it to the first year coach who’s made a huge improvement and Vrabel Johnson and Coen have all done that but Kyle has been vg
Update: We're still out of Bork license plates in the gift shop.
Spoiler
SRM bought them all.
Stafford going to get the seniority bump too.
In other news, who’s ready for primetime Panthers with the division on the line!?
Only advanced stat that seems to favor Stafford is dyar which I think he's ahead by a ton pending this weekend.
I figure the narrative of the weak schedule plus Stafford old etc will carry if rams win tonight and he's vaguely good.
Contrarily coach of the year seems to be going to vrabel when it should be very up in the air. Think I'd go Cohen or Shanahan
I don't know how it doesn't go to Ben Johnson. It's their first winning season since 2018, and they won the division.
Pats and Jags haven't gone that long without a winning season. I think Shanny would be fine, even though the 9ers are always good, since they did have to overcome a lot of injuries and were without their starting QB for a chunk of the season.
Maye has a narrow edge in a lot of rate statistics, Stafford's got him on a few though.
Agree with the narrative take. According to Schatz he has Pats at third easiest schedule per average opponent DVOA in the last ~50 years. Stafford has had to do it against far superior teams. Arguably Maye's two worst games were in his two toughest tests against the Bills.
Plus the old guy getting his flowers thing. Maye will have lots of chances.
Gambling.
Also I'm a little sus voters may be gambling on the things they are voting on.
It does seem like voters tend to lean on precedent stats like these, but the Rams being the 6 seed lacks a bit of context. 3rd in total EPA isn't the same as being like 12th. If they win tonight, the top 3 teams in the NFC will all be in the West. Of the 11 losses combined of those teams, 5 have come in the division.
And in all 4 Rams losses this year, they were 80%+ to win the game at some point. I'm not sure how much that should fall on Stafford, though he does ultimately bear some responsibility across all 4.
I'm cheering for Drake. But I think both he and Stafford are worthy.
Depressing though it may seem to the advanced stats advocates, I think 40 TD and 5 INT is so much better a ratio than 30 and 10 that it might be that simple for Stafford to win
If he doesn’t throw INTs the next two weeks then I think Stafford wins
He may sit next week
Herbert is sitting for the season finale against the Broncos.
Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed the team would be sitting quarterback Justin Herbert for the regular-season finale against the Broncos, per ESPN's Kris Rhim. That means backup signal-caller Trey Lance will start.
...Harbaugh went on to add that Herbert might not be the only starter sitting. He said that the starters with "the most bruises" and who need "the most healing" will sit.
Is there any reason for Stafford to play tonight?

Caught my eye as well, 40:5 is a ratio that will attract votes.
