New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Yeah, my top 5 is strictly burger joints, for simplicity. Basically the biggest in my given area.
Plus, I'm waaay to cheap to pay for ff fried chicken. I've got a mortgage to pay!
top 5 (in terms of availability) in my area:
McDonalds
Burger King
Jack in the Box
Wendys
.... and 5th is Arbys. Technically they have burgers. However a reg. roast beef, hot ham and swiss, or the cheddar cheese abomination count to me
Edit so for those that wish to partake, you could have top chicken joints, top sandwich places, etc.
Wendy's got them JBCs for $.01 via the app, with purchase.
I might get one just so I can ask the drive thru clerk "WHERE'S THE BEEF?"
Got the $8 two JBC deal a few weeks back and I swear the beef was about the size of a half dollar. Pathetic.
The redhead is likely dead to me in 2026.
the redhead and McMuffin have broken up.
Im in the same boat. Tons of Ricks lately.
My perception of value has really drifted I feel good getting outta there for 6 bucks with two doubles free fries and a drink. lol.
Been crushing the Arby’s weekend BOGO which is still ~ 10 bucks.
The 6$ Cali XL at Carls is also getting a little run for me.
Hard times out here in FF, Wendy’s is dead to me.
In and Outs still have lines into the street daily in LV and I just don’t get it. The burger is good but it doesn’t stand out all for the $.
I miss BK. BK pls come back.
Taco Bell Tuesday drop still delivering. My family had four $1 crunch wraps.
Next week's drop is a $1 chicken quesadilla
Basically the opposite in Canada, Wendys the only value left here. Between 2 for 4 breakfast menu and bogo free sando with receipt surveys Im still quite happy. Subway had bogo free footlongs last month too which was nice. Paired nicely with buying $50 gift cards to get a free bonus foot, and app points. Mmm meatball.

swung by the only outlet within over two hundred miles this past monday at 1pm on our way back from a road trip. took us 30 minutes from entering the line to discarding the empty wrappers and napkins after finishing.
two doub-doubs plus chilies for under $12 out the door
would never consider as a weekly meal, but damn sure is hits different when in a long distance relationship
I've pretty much just been doing McDs breakfast. Buy breakfast sandwich get 2nd for $1. Let's me get 2 SEC McMuffins for $6. Add a 99c large sugar free vanilla iced latte, and repeat a couple times a week.
Every so often spend reward points on a free FoF with a $5 Spicy Mcchix meal deal.
That's it. Saving money overall not going to Wendy's or even Popeyes, BK, or TB. Value confirmed very low.
Interesting value proposition at Five Guys today -- I go once a year on New Year's Day since it's open, not busy and convenient.
They had a bunch of signs saying you could combo any burger, adding a little fries and a drink for $6. I didn't pay much attention since I never get a drink, but when I looked at the board later I noticed that the price for a little fries by itself was $5.49. Fifty cents for a drink seems like a bargain, especially given 5G's usual pricing.

In smaller areas out in California here In N Out still has insane lines while typically down the road a bit Habit has no wait, a larger menu and food is just as good if not better.
In N Out makes a good burger but that's it. Other fast food's fries and expanded menus are superior.

never have had habit, or anything else from i-n-o except a burger, but do not doubt you for a second
This got me thinking (never a good sign). In my nape of the neck, that would be Rick's, the King, Jack, the Red Head and Taco Bell. But what about Popeye's, KFC, Cane's, Del Taco, or RB's? Any other possible additions to the Big 5?
I could see maybe one or two subbing out Jack in someone's list.
Maybe Carl's or Whataburger. I'd have to leave Jack's in no matter what, because of the wide variety of stuff they have.
McDonald's got rid of free fry Fridays!!!
Not a good start to 2026.
:(
I used free fries yesterday. Maybe yall need to tweet at your franchise operators!
Available in the deals, can mobile order from a distance
Jack's got 2 tacos for $.75 tomorrow 1/6 only, celebrating 75 years of Jack.
Busted link. Missing the colon
Wendys bacon portabella melt is back, my favorite time of the year. See you in 10lbs.
