Those of you who know me know me as a Niners fan full of fantastical levels of vitriol and rage. I hav
28c = what in odds terms?
Not to over kill the odds thing, but...
There are 4 common ways of expressing odds:
1. Fractional (e.g. 18/5). Common in UK;
2. American (e.g. +257). Common in USA and Canada;
3. Decimal (e.g. 3.57). Common in non-UK Europe and ROW;
4. Present Value (e.g. 28c or 28%). Common in peer-to-peer markets.
Each have advantages over the others in specific contexts.
In the case of Present Value it works better when one wants to view how much a wager has grown (or declined) in value over time.
In McDonald's case, a wager at 18c is now valued at 28c, or a gain of (28-18)/18 = 56%.
Since peer-to-peer markets permit "selling back" wagers, in this case one could realize a 56% profit by selling back his/her position and not need to risk/wait for the final result to make money. Of course if McDonald wins COY the gain on the wager would be a lot more, e.g. (100-18)/18 = 456%.
As peer-to-peer is growing in market share of sports wagering, I expect the use of Present Value in quoting odds will become more accepted.

All AFC West teams were in action last weekend and they combined to score ZERO offensive touchdowns. Only the 2nd time that has happened.
The last time that every team in a division was in action and didn't score a touchdown was on December 20th 1988 when the 5 teams in the AFC East combined for 27 points ALL ON FIELD GOALS.

There have been over 60 thousand field goal attempts in the NFL. Tyler Loop's 44 yard attempt was the 1st time in NFL history that a kick with time running out at the end of a game in the final week of the season soley determined which team would make the playoffs.
