It turns out that x% of them entered the country illegally through a non-border, or overstayed their visa (the latter is civil i know but trump = rapist is also civil, but regularly parroted here)
it turns out that x% of them are legally in the US, but have no documents for some reason.
These are two great examples of spots where "undocumented" is more correct than "illegal."
You live in Europe right? Where you live is there any precedent where cities decide they are going to flout national laws, and tell law enforcement they will fight them if they try to uphold the law? And encourage civilians to form militias to "resist" law enforcement?I am guessing where you lived they would consider this an insurrection, and it would not be permitted. The who
Sanctuary cities started in part because the feds wanted the states to use their resources to jail and hold traffic offenders for the immigration and customs officers for Visa issue or deportation. They refused, in part, because the feds would not reimburse them for these costs.
We have no national police force that enforces the laws. ICE has a limited scope of enforcement duties, as does the FBI. I have no obligation to cooperate with ICE.

are these correct, or you only care about correctness for certain things?
Sure. Go ahead and play whatever semantic games make you feel better about carrying water for a rapist.

There's nothing very close to being analogous to state vs federal law enforcement here so it's not easily comparable. The closest I can come up with is a hypothetical where a far-right government deployed the military to perform actions similar to ICE in left-leaning cities (i.e. most large cities) and I would imagine there's a pretty solid chance that the local governments would put up significant resistance to those actions. Blocking roads is a pretty common protest method here so that sort of protest happening seems somewhere between highly likely and near certain if the military was being used to round up people suspected of being here illegally.

I think rape is very bad. Shouldn't be civil but even if somehow it is.
I don't give a monkies about people overstaying their visa. Enough punishment to be undocumented and know you can be deported if you get caught. It's not an ideal situation so offer a path to becoming fully legit.

Ya they have limits for some reason. I remember being in Thailand with a 30 day limit. I wanted to stay longer but decided to follow the rules and go over to Cambodia for a little bit and then re-enter Thailand. Wasn't that hard to do. People could do the same in America. Canada/Mexico have borders they could try.

There's certainly credible evidence that Trump is a rapist, but I'm not sure what this has to do with the convo at hand. Admittedly, I'd also want to change the subject if I was doing as poorly as you are currently.

it was part of the original post lol. the people who vie for correctness (omg they are undocumented, not illegal!!!!!!!! we need to change the terminology asap so feelings don't get hurt) also happily regurgitate trump = rapist, even though that's not correct, if we're talking about the law.
Well, in the video the person was screaming, "that's my neighbor." But some reporting has said it was her "wife". I really have no clue what is going on, except that it seems clear they were working together as a team to impede and antagonize law enforcement in premeditated activism, where Goode was impeding them with the car while the other person was filming.
Agreed. Perhaps time to shut up?

I doubt it's much fun being undocumented and knowing you can be deported. That's enough reason not to do it unless the alternatives suck.
We got lucky. We aren't victims.

But would a major political party be leading the insurrection, declaring they are going to resist following federal laws passed by the democratically elected govt in cities they control?
Seems the only time something even remotely like this happens in Europe, it is a right wing party protesting farm confiscation (or something along these lines) and it is widely condemned by the European left.

Housenuts being a sex tourist is the least surprising new information I've learned in a long time
mouthnuts...you went for the little boys right?
makes sense

Lol zero ****s given. Maybe he is. Maybe you are. The point was about the hypocrisy of the LLPs demanding they be called undocumented, rather than illegals, but also calling him a rapist.
Lol the guy who has never left his own country before calls other people who travel sex tourists. Hot take.
I've talked about traveling to other countries on this very forum. I went to Canada like 3 months ago
Its fairly ironic that the deeply right wing close minded racist thinks the open minded not racist hasn't traveled but sure

Lol the adventurous non racist traveller travels to Canada where the race is the same.
lol, couldn't even get whores in your country to **** you for cash?
This is another amazing feature of Americans. They don't travel. And then anyone who does travel, they attack them. Quality stuff gents.

No one's "demanding" anything and even better news for you is that the "Liberal Language Police" don't actually exist. Feel free to use whatever dehumanizing terminology you prefer when referring to immigrants. The mods here are probably going to be okay with it if you use racial slurs or whatever.
mouthnuts deflecting like a proper MAGAT
The problem that the fascist in this thread are struggling over is, they don't see any problem w/ what ICE is doing in these communities.
Hence, if an activist creates any opposition, and they put themselves in "harm's way" to any degree... they get what they deserve. This is the fascist mentality. If you're exhibiting this... congrats! Don't get confused, this is the same thing nazi's did to anyone who stood up to the brown shirts. You're living through it right now, and it may feel a bit disorienting, and you may not want to believe it, or downgrade it in your mind, but this is what's happening.
ICE is in liberal cities only. Not conservative ones, and not by accident. They have been endorsed, even moments after this horrendous incident, to do their worst by this administration. It publically lied for them, and said, "we have your back".
Nazi Germany enlisted WWI vets that were angry, and PTSD ridden, to do their worst on their perceived "enemies". What's happening is not that far removed from this very same thing.
Good in no way at all, deserved to be shot in the face for impeding agents (even though she was waving them by), or fleeing a rapidly escalating scene. She was no threat to anyone. She was there to be a witness, and to show opposition.
To those that complain about both sides are the same, etc... and that democrats in power don't do enough to oppose republicans, this is how opposition works. It starts w/ the people. You. You have to get into the streets and create opposition from the ground up, and that empowers legislators that want votes, to have your back. Politicians are people who want power, and they are primarily guided by large groups that encourage them and nudge them in a direction of the people's choice. But otherwise, they are just people who do people things... like self-dealing. You have to be a part of the opposition and demand the change. It doesn't happen by being a keyboard warrior, or sitting at home and complaining about it.
