Dailies and Degen (January 8th-14th, 2026 - Las Vegas Trip Report)

Almost two years ago we accidentally got Diamond status on our first trip to Vegas, from a bachelor party where gambling got aggressive. With our status (and basically free hotels) expiring at the end of the month, we decided to send one last trip to the holy land.

Checking off some Vegas bucket-list items, hitting the tables, and of course, plenty of poker.

Obligatory bankroll photo for the people:

I see no fifties, which means a successful trip is bound to happen! Where will you be staying?

Good luck!!

Staying at Harrah’s - $9/night for a whole week is pretty unbeatable. This trip sprung up mostly due to cheap flights and cheaper hotels.

Speaking of which, let’s pray Frontier gets us there in one piece. Just parked at the airport and got notified we are switching planes due to scheduling issues. Always a good sign for the first flight of the day.

I'm in for following along...

In! Safe travels. Hope Frontier goes well.

Layover in Houston, this is basically poker, right? Probably more addictive….

If I had planned better, a 6-hour layover was probably a good opportunity to hit a local card club, but we’ve got plenty of poker ahead of us.

In for the ride! Run good.

Cheap Harrah's rates and Vegas dailies. I sense another kindred spirit.

Good luck.

Landed around 9 PM last night and immediately headed to Harrah’s to check in. From there I went over to MGM Grand for Steve Aoki at Hakkasan. There isn’t much information out there on their “Table Share Experience”, so for the sake of people searching in the future, here’s the skinny:

When I booked it was $150 for guys and $75 for girls. You check in at the VIP tables area and they briefly take your ID and Credit Card (you aren’t charged, just for verification). They take you up to a private suite with plenty of seating tucked behind the stage on the second floor, where a waitress is set up with vodka, tequila, and a spread of mixers. The staff regularly checks in to see if you’re running low on anything and brings out new bottles. Because you are behind the speakers, you can actually talk to the people around you - usually I have hearing protection in at clubs, but it was a comfortable volume to keep them out.

Considering a drink at these clubs are $50+ and there’s nowhere to sit unless you buy a table, I think it’s an incredible deal. Looking around, most other Tao places have the option at similar pricing. At Omnia it is both more expensive and I have to imagine you aren’t set up in the main room.

Currently nursing the hangover and figuring out what the plan for the day is going to be. So many tournaments, not enough electrolytes….

Thanks for the background on that. I don’t go to clubs, but I always wondered how that worked.

Saw Caesar’s had a $100 with $50 add-on and max late-regged. Don’t know if it’s new, or old, but I had a different 1k chip mixed into my stack. Really cool design on it.

The first hand we VPIP, we’ve blinded down to 25k (off 35k starting+add-on) at 1k/2k/2k. I raise black Jacks to 5k, and get called by the BTN, SB, and BB.

Flop comes 9 6 2. x,x, we think for a bit and bet 8k into 22k. The BTN, who was buzzed and pretty fishy, quickly calls and the others fold.

Turn is the 2. We quickly jam our last 12k, and get snapped by A9. River is the Ace.

****ing jacks

well, wouldn't have been any different if you had pocket kings

Played 2 hours over at Aria, in for $250, out for slightly more. Wish I had some hand histories to post but it’s been a pretty card dead trip so far.

Headed over to Scarpetta for dinner. The Short Rib and Bone Marrow Agnolotti absolutely blew me away. The dish felt perfected.

Down $121 on Poker on the day, up $66 gambling. Taking some bigger swings tomorrow. Or we just run deep and don’t need to fire many bullets.

Fired the Bellagio Noon $200.

Got sat at the perfect table, 7-handed, with 2 dead stacks. I punted off top-two pair against a turned flush, given the action I should have found a fold.

I call a 3-bet of 2.2k in the CO, the BTN and original raiser come along. Holding KT the flop is KT6. The 3-better bets out 3k. Perhaps this is where we should have raised, but we try to maximize value and not scare off draws. The BTN calls as well.

18k in the center, 15k behind for myself and the original 3-bettor. The turn comes 4 original 3-bettor puts out 6k, we call here, the BTN jams, 3-bettor folds. 9k to win 84k….this is just a fold. At best we’ve got 4 outs, likely some have gotten folded.

Not surprised to see a flush, was a bit surprised to see 78.

Re-buy put us at the same table…time to win back our chips.

At 300/600/600, 2 people limp to us in the Big Blind and I check Q9o. Flop comes 974 rainbow, first limper leads out for 3k, we jam for 10k effective, and the short stack calls with T9. Turn is the Ten.

Had 10k at the end of late reg, and we ran hot, flip after flip. 60k on the final table, just above average. Top 3 get paid.

First hand of the final table we raise the HJ to 3.5k with A4. BTN, SB and BB called.

Flop comes 935, all hearts. It checks around, and we hit our straight with 2 on the turn. I think it’s a weird spot, we want value but can’t bet big. We bet 5k when it checks to us, and only the BTN calls.

A blank on the river, and I think we have the same plan. We bet 7k into ~25k, and the BTN reluctantly calls with 2nd pair.

Miss several flops with hands that play themselves, and we go from 90k to 34k with 6 left, 3 getting paid, at 1.5k/3k/3k. Facing down the big blind next hand we make a perhaps not solver approved jam with QJo, and get snapped off by AK.

God I suck at tournaments. But when in Rome.

The draws are going to call a raise as well IMO, and there are many of them present here. I would definitely raise here.

According to SnapShove, QJo is an approved jam here with 11 BB from UTG. But that is the worst offsuit Qx that we are jamming. For suited hands, we are looking at Q9s+.

But you are more than deep enough to go through the blinds once more as well, so either decision would have been fine I think. But in a live format where people might not find the correct calls, erring on the side of aggression is probably the way to go.

Ended yesterday -$400 in Poker, and +$250 on a few Golden Knights bets. Sat next to two guys who had never been to a hockey game before, and had the same bets as me. Can’t ask for a better experience.

Hit late reg in the $100 Caesars Daily, sitting on 1.5x starting stacks after flopping a set. Will be in for another $50 for 15k add-on.

We’ve only VPIP’ed 3 times in the first 2 hours. Partly card dead, but mostly because we are seeing no hands. Seat 9 is an OMC who does not look at his cards until it’s on him, and takes 30 seconds pre-flop, and tanks unnecessarily post-flop.

Spent an hour hanging around the same stack, until we are 6-handed, with 18 left, at 2k/4k/4k. HJ limps and the CO raises to 12k. It folds to us in the BB and we make the easy jam for 11BB with AQs.

It folds around to the CO and he puts in a solid 15 second tank before calling with KK. Not much you can do there. Out well before the money.

Jesus, those dailies sound grim. I do hope you're drinking excessively?

Back on the club experience - the $150....how many drinks did that include? Or were they extra?

I'm not math magician but I'm pretty sure with top 2 pair , spr of 1:1 and someone to act behind you that's a mandatory jam

One of the better parts of the daily was the free drinks.

The Table Share Experience covers your drinks for the night. They keep bringing out new bottles throughout the night that’s included with your ticket.

Headed over to the Wynn for some $1/$3. Only had one interesting hand.

UTG and the LJ limp, and the CO raises to $12, and we call with AT. The UTG and LJ come along.

The flop comes KQJ. The UTG and LJ check, and the CO bets $35 into $50. We think for a bit and raise to $85. UTG jams for $135. The moment the CO calls, we jam for $385…well, we tried to. What we forgot is the action was closed and the dealer counted out our call.

Turn comes a 3. He checks to us, we jam for $250, and he tank calls.

On offsuit Ten comes and UTG limper turns over T9dd, so we’re good there. Unfortunately the CO had A6 and we’re chopping up the short stack.

We cash out down $3, I’ll call it even given the quantity of watermelon juice consumed.
