Without seeing a further breakdown of what exactly those college grads majored in or what their plans are as far as continuing their education it’s hard to know what that number means exactly. Especially without knowing what the historical trends are.
I will say from a “gut feeling” perspective that a lot of people use when judging the economy, it feels like it’s really hard to get a job right now without having lots of experience for whatever role you’re in. So I imagine if people want to get a job that is in their field they’re going to have to take on some kind of internship or find some other way of entering into it in addition to just having a college degree.
