my main position was i was living a normal life back in asia - as was the rest of asia because we all did genuine and hard lockdowns and contact tracing instead of the half hearted ones in the usa and it frustrated me that people in usa#9 couldn't see the big picture
yes, when asian countries stopped with contact tracing protocols they were all hit hard - but by then the virus had mutated and there was the vax to mitigate the damage so they ended up relatively unscathed despite being in far more denser populations much closer to the epicenter

The kid barely looks 15. I don't know how it works now but I had a school id at 15, didn't have any kind of official govt id.
Regarding the 4th amendment, a lot of states, police can't just randomly walk up to citizens and demand an id unless there is some investigation regarding a crime. Don't know if feds work under the same rules.

I used to scoff at comparisons of Trump's America turning fascist as mere melodramatics, but now, after viewing several videos of the extremely heavy handed, and in some cases outright thuggish tactics of ICE, I'm starting to see the point. This seems reminiscent of Putin's Russia to me. Crazy start to barely a fortnight into 2026 and America has three more years of this. We're entering scary times.
FYI, you can get a state ID under the age of 16. You get it at the DMV, looks like a driver's license but has a big note that it is NOT a driver's license. I had to get one when I was 12 for some Olympiad thing.

The issue of law enforcement not being in control of their environment, not being aware of events in their presence , an officer not being aware of his position and end up with him killing a citizen while firing their weapon at a moving vehicle with bystanders and colleagues down range?
