Moore is going to lose tens of millions of dollars in gtd money. This is one of the weakest draft classes ever, especially for QBs.
Seemed kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy. They ended up with a low ceiling post-big Ben, because they never fully committed to the tank and rebuild. Of course, some of the results fall on Tomlin and his style/decision making. But they were never going to fully tank with him as the HC.
I’ll be interested to see how he fares elsewhere.
They haven't really had a QB or WR for the past 5 years. Finally found a running game this year. Absolutely overachieved with a mediocre roster year in and out.
That's the best argument for getting rid of him is that he is too good to tank.
Don't disagree that in a lot of these recent years Tomlin managed to get quite a lot out of very mediocre teams. Still Tomlin was just past the point of being a coach to take them much past wildcard or divisional weekend.
Their roster just feels like it is near expiry and needs a refresh. Watt will decline soon. Heyward can't have much left in the tank. I get you can't just punt these guys but franchises need to cut the cord faster nowadays. I'll say the same thing in 3 to 4 or so years if Ravens stall out with Lamar under his new deal.
