Netflix "Watch Instantly"
I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream
Started Task last night. Really good through the first 3 episodes, I thought. Didn't want to stop. 3am though, lol.
Dark is a must watch.
Makes sense, people don't ****ing pay attention. I see a lot of film/television discussions featuring questions about things that were literally explained in the very next scene.
If you're always having to explain things you're doing your art wrong anyway. Show me don't tell me.
To be fair to Netflix here they are right with how little I often pay attention these days

I totally agree, but money only seems to get pushed towards formulas and sure things these days, with a few notable exceptions and as soon as the suits are running everything, they always defer to the obvious
Ponies was great! Hell of season ender! Probably predictable if you gave it a good deal of thought, which I did not do. I just watched and enjoyed.
reminds me of the west wing where you'd have two of the biggest policy wonks in the world sitting down in a room and explaining to each other what the state of the union address was and why it mattered as if they were both 5 just so the audience could follow along seamlessly
people that watch netflix films probably dont even know their own home address.
i dont think theres a single one thats above a 4/10?

Gotta disagree for me personally. Don't Look Up was great, I enjoyed much of The Rip (eventually it jumps the shark a bit), Rebel Ridge was really enjoyable, Glass Onion, etc. etc. etc. (The Irishman is supposedly v good but I haven't seen it).
I thought I Love LA was pretty enjoyable. Surprised ratings aren’t better. It’s like Girls meets Entourage. I am a big Rachel Sennott fan and thought she did a good job skewering Gen Z while also being somewhat insightful. Solid supporting cast, esp the gay best friend. Renewed for S2 by HBO.
Recently finished the miniseries Beast in Me and Task. I thought both were really good, but Task much better, mostly due to Claire Danes seeming to play the exact same character as she did in Homeland, only with a different career. I have to wonder, does she use "pfffft" in every single conversation irl like she does in all her on screen roles? I really like Mark Ruffalo, going to put more of his stuff in the queue as there's a lot he's done that I haven't seen.
first exposure to him was this movie and i couldn't figure out what it was, but he just had so much presence
he seems like a real douche in interviews though
2010? In the Cut if you want to see Meg Ryan naked.
Reminds me that I've been meaning to revisit The Brothers Bloom (2008). I remember not loving it at the time, but suspect it deserves another shot.

my opinon is life is short. We have thousands of amazing novels and tv series that are super well rated. Even a tons of movies that are 8.2 and over/10
Why waste a minute of the only thing worthy in life(time) on these 6.5-7.5 movies?
Unless you're like working at the same time or grinding poker, there's really no point to sit down and concentrate on those. I've been watching TV for decades and im still not caught up on all the top shows. Too many coming out constantly.
6.8 imdb
56 critics score
i have SDAM. I can't waste 2hrs on something i wont remember at all in 2weeks
i understand sometimes they hit your "style" like i watched running man at 6.5 but its because its
1)sci fi
2) high octane
3) good writer and actors
and i had SO MUCH FUN.
but it was objectively a pretty meh movie that i wouldnt recommend to anyone but big nerds.
Just like netflix movies. If you're a woman into romantic smutt, go ahead. otherwise, please pick up wood working or something.
irishman is great but probably aided heavily by my nostalgia for that type of film which isn't made as much anymore
