In the current news climate we see that some figures and events tend to dominate the front-pages heavily. Still, there a
off the top of my head i think freak daddy and bryce both feel that way - i know there are otherssearch is tough because people are usually responding with generalities - ie discussion is already on kamala so someone writing "she's a great candidate" and not "kamala is a great candidate"bryce is def confirmed though there was a bunch praising her as a vp pick as well - but
What Bryce said was clearly not the same as "she's an ideal candidate" or "she ran a flawless campaign."
Just embarrassing that Rick thinks we're dumb enough to buy these half-assed lies.
This is pretty far away from saying that she was an ideal candidate who ran a flawless campaign. Again, I feel like you are caricaturing others in order to portray yourself as the reasonable contrarian.
I'm struggling to believe that anyone thought a candidate who failed to generate any meaningful traction in the 2020 Democratic primary was an "ideal candidate" in 2024.
I don't remember what others said about her campaign, but I remember exactly what I said. I said that she ran a low risk campaign and didn't make any huge gaffes during the campaign. I stand by that assessment, which is far different than saying that she ran a flawless campaign. Especially with the benefit of hindsight, opting for a low risk campaign appears to have been a strategic error.
Seems like a perfectly reasonable and levelheaded opinion to hold
This relentless framing of Kamala Harris as a disaster that was avoided is unimaginable levels of cope
We are currently living in an unmitigated disaster
agree that this time there was a clear distinction between the giant douche and turd sandwich
i stand by that from 2016 to 2024 there was no distinction
i'm basically a broken record on this
trump's most controversial policies were immigration and tariffs - the biden admin didn't roll those back but actually maintained and even strengthened some of them
so big picture between trump and biden didn't have much of a difference - yes you'll find differences, but nothing like what we have now - sending troops into cities and threatening nato allies

i think we're getting caught in semantics here and you're taking rhetorical brevity (obviously people weren't calling her perfect) but there were plenty who said she was a really good candidate so much to the point that it's hard to believe you can genuinely believe there were no such posters who held such belief

This is highly selective thinking.

The issue with Trump has ALWAYS been who he is as a man. Such a damaged individual should never, ever be given the power of the POTUS regardless of what he claims his policies to be. It was always going to end badly with such a psychotic person. Always.
Some of us knew this. You fools should have listened. But you didnβt. And now here we are and heβs got 3 more years.
i have said this much myself, he's the worst president we've ever had
why do you always assume i support, vote for, or even admire him?

rick, you can just insist that it is so, but what I mainly remember on this site was concern about the timing of Biden's withdrawal and discussion about whether there was any practical alternative to nominating Kamala. I remember people expressing considerable relief when Biden ultimately withdrew, but that was because of obvious concerns about Biden's viability, not because of unbridled enthusiasm about Kamala as a candidate. Even going back to 2019, I remember people having a relatively blah reaction to Kamala as a candidate. As I recall, she had suspended her campaign even before the first primary.
I also don't think it is fair to give yourself the benefit of hyperbole while describing others as overly semantic.
i also remember that - i was never talking about mainstream opinion here, but there were definitely some who felt she was a great candidate - i'm sure if you were to dm bryce or freak daddy they'd confirm as much
That was copium but People definitely thought she would win It was close to even money but trump had a late surge in bets. I'm not sure they thought she was a good candidate tho . I actually kind of liked her. yall done goofed
This is the total BS the left spouts. No one is making women drop their shorts to prove they are women. The reality is it is fairly easy to distinguish a man competing against women . Yes there are the very rare instances were a birth certificate must be produced and occur at International competitions . Tell me how many Trans men are competing at the highest levels in men's sp
I mean, let me be very plain here.
Nobody here really cares about women’s sports.
You’re not attending professional women’s sporting events, or watching them on tv for that matter either, or follow their professional stats. Nobody here cares about actual fairness in women’s sports- that they’re underpaid, underrepresented, underfunded. Or that they’re habitually subject to sexual harassment and abuse by doctors, coaches, pay for play nonsense etc.
No, none of that matters. It’s just the quarter of a percent of trans athletes that you’re concerned with. How coincidental. How convenient.
**** off and leave women athletes alone. They have enough to deal with without anti-trans bigots jerking them around too.

Well, when the two extremes were "Kamala is an unqualified incompetent promiscuous DEI chickenhead with an annoying laugh" and "She seems well qualified as a politician so I strongly endorse her over Trump" I'm going to go out on a limb and say that group 1 (of which you firmly fell into place) was objectively more extreme, wrong, and unjustified of the two camps

kamala actually surged a bit in the leadup to the election - so much that it shattered my plans and i opted not to hedge out because the hedge itself wasn't going to independently be ev
glad it happened as i would have made a fraction as much as i ultimately did had i done so
BTW I'm never going to let go of campfire calling Kamala a chickenhead. Just a chefs kiss of confirming every assumption made about the reasons people were inherently off-put by Harris.

but im racist and I wanted her to win! I do think running a women a second time vs trump was a strategic error

Well said.
For that matter, not many people in the SPORTS forums care much about women's sports.

I somehow missed that post when it was made, but I just searched and found it. Totally nuts and proof positive that you can say almost anything here now.
