New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Red Robin WiFi has been blocking 2+2 because of it's gambling ties for ages. I finally had enough and sent them an email.
Well today I got a response that they are recatorgizing 2+2 as a newsgroup forum/message board! Woot!!!

I would've done the same thing but gotten comped a free burger and fries.
You're still the King!
I can't believe we still don't have a Portillo's here yet. The Hat is opening its first location sometime in the next few months. Hopefully that lives up to the hype.P4B, you don't even need to use the app to order all the BOGO $1 items from Ricks. Fair enough if you've got to have a Big Mac or QPC instead of a cheeseburger or double cheeseburger but that's why you're paying $2
According to the signage here, the only BOGO $1 things they have here is the double cheeseburger and McChicken.
Mike’s new hot Italian delivers.
It was great. I also added chipotle mayo.
that right there is the funny **** cowboy
Today's Taco Bell drop is a $1 Chalupa Supreme! Starts at 2pm pst and have 1 hour to grab the deal. You have the rest of the day to use it.
So you get a whole hour to do it? I tried when it opened and it wasn’t working so I just said F it. Was unlikely to use it anyway.
It depends on the week. Sometimes you only have 30 seconds. But the drop wording will tell you. But yeah something was bugged in the updated app. It took me a few tries and that was 30 minutes into the promo.
Next week's drop looks like Luxe box items? We'll find out.
Today at Sonic, buck forty-nine chili cheese coneys. Every Thursday thru February.
never have had habit, or anything else from i-n-o except a burger, but do not doubt you for a second
The fries are polarizing, but after a tough start to the relationship many years ago - they've earned a spot in my heart.
I haven't read the entire thread, but Five Guys seems to be underrepped.
OG Habit in Santa Barbara also deserves a shout.
In N Out, Habit, Five guys in that order for me. Umami burger if you have access to a time machine.
Five Guys seems to be underrepped.
thats simply because of the price point. for some people who do partake, its a once in a year thing.
i have 50% off grubhub min $15 order, max $10 reward
might do 5guys cheeseburger and regular fries soon
Five Guys sucks. Their burgers are just really greasy, nothing special, and wild expensive. The fries are good, but I can’t see a reason to ever go back there.
I like 5 Guys , their burgers hit. Nice offering of custom toppings including grilled/not grilled jalapeños and mushrooms.
It's important to eat their food in the restaurant to preserve the structural integrity of the hamburger.
I also enjoy 5 Guys. I order the grilled cheese, then add patty, bacon and other toppings. It’s a great upgrade over the standard burger option.
Yeah, I'm a fan of 5G, but like AiML said, it's a rarity for me based on cost and the fact that I make a pretty mean cheeseburger at home.

All the pricing comments are making me start to wonder if I haven't been paying attention, or if the fast food prices around me in the Bay Area are just THAT jacked up. I never really thought of 5 Guys as being that much more expensive when McDonalds combos are like - $15.
With regards to home burgers - for me - the secret is realizing ketchup has no place on a burger. Learn to make a good Mac sauce, and get your smash technique down (parchment or cooked spot) - and you're golden. 😃
Yeah, home burgers with sauteed mushrooms and onions, with swiss and a touch of mayo are the ****.
Edit: Cheeseburger and fries is $21.20 at my 5G location. Crazy talk.
I got a little cheeseburger and little fries for ~ $16 last time I went and that was plenty of food. I would only get the bigger burger or regular fries if I were McLovin' it with an offer.
While it helps to have a trust fund if you're going to eat there regularly, it is possible to do 5G at semi-reasonable cost.
ETA: That said, I'm having a burger at home tonight, lol
I'm remiss in not reporting on a Rick's run from last night. Two McDouble meals for $12, including 4-piece nugs and a small fry/small drink for the wife and me (her request). It was pretty damned good, and value-y.
I think I prefer the McDouble to the Double Cheeseburger.

things son of 27offsuit would say for 100 dollars please and may i add an extra order of those free peanuts atop the greasily stained glassily transparent fry bag
oh, forgot to ask, do you substitute yams?
