Your cook dinner or look after the kids point might have some merit, but remove that from the equation and sports is not what the majority would be watching. It's real housewives, love is blind, or some hgtv show.

Guys, I don't really care that much. I'm not the ones arguing for the sanctity of womens sports while shitting on womens sports and women in general. There is this weird general hypocrisy among many of the things you all think and this is just one more of those things

Wow, that's damn good. Of course there are more teams in the NBA so much more total viewers per season but still seems pretty successful. Even with way lower ticket prices, less merch sales, you would think there is still enough to pay even the bench warmers enough to not have to go play in turkey or Russia in the off-season to make ends meet.
I used to talk mad trash about the WNBA product but after Caitlin got me to pay attention it's a much more physical game than the NBA. Don't get me started on all the traveling non calls in the NBA these days. The pivot foot has gone extinct.

Yet the league continues to lose money. What you forget is your just counting US viewership not worldwide which the NBA does well at. These women play for the love of the game and I can not imaging being traded to a city like NY making $80,000
For many fans you can take your family out to watch a game at an affordable rate . You can take your daughter to a game and say tell her if she excels she can play there to as long as man doesn't take her high school or college spot because he wasn't good enough to compete against men

You see on one hand, women's sports are going broke because no one cares and no one wants to watch them play. On the other hand, women's sports are a sacred American institution that needs to be aggressively policed by national political parties.
If they can't turn a profit with 80% of the viewership of the NBA, there's an obvious management issue that has little to do with the popularity of the sport.
