Hypothetical:I live in CA and we can only play 9 days a monthBut we can 'play through' the winnings during the 9 days of the next month and then cash them out. If I've already used my 9 days, and then win 2K over 2500 hands during days in which I'm not allowed to play, then what...I just have to play 2500 hands next month before I can cash out

So I can buy in, play one hand, leave and rinse repeat? That seems like the easiest workaround of all time.

Let’s say you start the 10th day with a withdraw restricted balance 2, 000 and finish the month with a balance of 4, 000
On next months first California day of
You play plo100 and start off session losing 5 buy ins(-500) then win 5 buy ins to quit session with a balance of 4, 000
$500 would be eligible for withdraw.
I really hope they calculate it in a way that whatever you lose gets deducted from the restricted balance.
For example balance 4, 000 with 3, 500 being Restricted.
During California day I play and lose 500. I really hope my balance becomes 3, 500 with 3, 000 being restricted vs 3, 500 and 3, 500 being restricted.
Wouldn't expect anything less from this site and its incompetent customer service. I mean it's just straight up an avoid at this point.

It's the biggest US site for cash games. Debit card, apple pay, credit card, bank account deposits, bank or debit card withdraw. Takes 2-3 days on avg to cash out

I played it last night for the first time. About 3 levels prior to the end of registration it was a 3-5 way all in fest just about every hand. I was chip leader at the table and then the short stack 20 minutes later. Even after late reg, it was wild. Maybe it was just my table, but players were going from 8k to 80k in a few hands. Playing bingo isn't very fun to me.

I didn't play many MMTs there before I switched sites but I was shocked at this, even in the cash games. There is soft...then there is whatever is going on there. Like its not JJ, vs AK, and ATs comes along all in. It's like K(o vs 84 vs JT vs A3. So wild.

Still no clarification on the exact terms behind cashing out for CA players who play over their limit? Sad.
And what's the deal w/ this $99 sub to Upswing? We get the upswing content and $110 in chips? Wouldn't the chips alone make it worth it? What am I missing?

Yeah, I'm asking if they actually are doing it because US tax code for gambling and poker is absurd. As I understand it, if you deposit $1000, play all year, break even and withdraw $1000 on Dec. 31, you will get a 1099 for $1000.
Recreational players will have to report any 1099 as income, but can only write off losses if they itemize tax deductions. Even if you itemize your deductions, you only benefit from the proportional amount over the standard deduction. In essence, recs pay a phantom tax if they breakeven and, in many cases, even lose money - crazy.
Professionals can write off their losses and expenses, but I heard that they must be able show that the income is for their livelihood.
It all gets worse in 2026 because the OBBBA now limits deductions to 90% of winnings and, for professionals, expenses.
Any CPAs out there that can offer advice?

Well this is an odd email, I just checked and I submitted the correct info back in march.... we'll thats one way of getting rid of a sweepstakes writter. Maybe theyll pull this trick on everyone to get out of issuing 1099s?

I was just playing on WPTGold and I got kicked off all my tables becuase of geolocation. I do play in a state I am allowed to play in, I don't use a VPN and I have never had this problem in the last year. I closed the client and I was able to log right back in. The money I had on the tables did NOT get returned to my account. I emailed support but who knows how long that's going to take. Has anybody had this problem? Any advice?
