Truly pathetic that after >2 decades of running it, they can't even bring themselves to have a Sunday Million weekly anymore, it's now changed to sporadically which ends up being every month, and instead you get a $75 $400k, which is a 2 day event. I also think the $109 Sunday Million should be vanilla and not a PSKO every single week, it's much more enticing to play something with $130K+ up top rather that a PSKO which end sup being 50K + bounties. Whoever is in charge of Stars mtt schedule and overall poker product should be fired.

The voice of reason thank goodness. These poker sites don't care about the players who make the rake for the sites. I thought Doug Polk was going to fix this? Doug Polk site didn't fix any of the issues at hand either and everyone I know has issues on that site. Why is this happening? Did Doug Polk get rich and not care about the players? Where is the solution who is going to give a dam and protect the players? Why can't we play poker without feeling being taken advantage of?

How did you get the impression that Doug Polk would fix poker sites not caring about players who make the rake?

I can tell you that the rule of thumb followed by everyone who ever was in charge of the Stars mtt schedule was "give the players what they want". If they are doing PSKOs instead of vanilla tournaments, it's because more people show up for PSKOs.

You can complain about it not being what you want, but Stars can't magically make people play the stuff you want them to play because you think you're better at it.

Its not so much about the formats tbh, I dont really care what they are, it's mainly the state of the schedule and as an arbitrary example - that they cant even run a Sunday Million every week which they did for over 2 decades. The whole schedule is garbage. I'm primarily a cash game player (not on stars) and used to enjoy firing off in mtts on a Sunday for the chance to win 6figs, now there isn't a single mtt outside of a festival (full of basically only of crushers (s/wcoop)) that you can win that sort of money. The Warm Up used to be 100k for 1st, Supersonic was 40k, Sunday Mill 150-200k - every week. I guess thats not entirley Stars fault and moreso the economy/ecosystem but if GG can do it why can't they? They have dropped the ball and allowed others to run with it (somewhat).

Stars is completely dead. It's full of tight eastern euros(ukrainians, belarussians) and brazilians. Every format you play, this is the majority of the player pool. With brazilians you usually get a mix of player types, eastern euros are all your standard ABC nits.
It's 10:28 here in GMT+2 and there are 6000 players online in Stars, tha'ts absolutely awful.

Unfortunately their site, their rules and if we don't like em then we can leave.

Everybody has....

Stars sent me an email about a promotion/challenge. I open the email a bit excited only to realize it's another challenge to unlock throwables with absolutely no monetary value. Basically play more and different formats to get these "exciting" thowables. Stars in a nutshell.

Thats just embarrassing
Because of where I live I cannot play Pokerstars for a while now and I used to be gutted about it
But the more I read about current Pokerstars Im starting to not mind at all

Lol, Ipoker did similar so I guess these two sites don't pay attention to how others operate.

When you say other formats do you mean challenges like "play/win xbuyin on spins to unlock this throwable"?

Unless I can actually take a dump and throw it at my opponent it ain't worth it.

Although it's not really fair to compare it to covid years, still goes to show you the crazy decline.

Interesting

Very cool article. And impressive data!

The decline has been brutal in the last few years. And they keep adding more tournaments and diluting the series, but the numbers are still going down in every metric even with lower stakes overall.

It would be interesting to see a similar article for ggpoker series.

Got an email today about PS merging w FD

Cautiously optimistic. I have every reason to believe the rake/rakeback/games are going to suck (3 states pooled is still meh but happy it's more comp for the other sites which also basically suck)

But with FanDuel face on a poker site that can have some positive sway for more legalization in other states since they want to expand daily fantasy sports too

Churn the TV commercials for FanDuel poker to keep the Ontario whale grinder going and I will be happy

Definitely seems like they might be trying to kill the rewards program or reduce it a lot with this move. Hopefully not.

Hoping the software stays PS branded instead of some kind of FanDuel theme.

Definitely think it could help improve the player pool.

Yeah I would hate to lose the PokerStars software. Hell world is janky Fanduel client and more rake/no rakeback
