My Dearest Jeffrey,

Which day will be the wildest party on Kid Rock?

Ive not listened to bad bunny and im not sure its my music but thought his half time show was pretty good. Maga protesting the half time show by watching kid rock is such extreme self harm even those monks who set themselves on fire would say thats too far.

Conservatives are so devoid of joy and art, they live such miserable lives.

Do you think it was a real β€œprotest” that any sizable fraction of conservatives cared about? Or was it more likely another in the long line of culture war distractions? We just received definitive confirmation last week that most of the West’s billionaires and politicians are part of an international child trafficking and torture ring. The whole bad bunny thing seemed like a very contrived effort to get people (of all political persuasions) wasting their attention on instead of real stuff.

i mean, does anyone know a single person who tuned into the other?

i just checked and it has 19 million views on youtube, quite a few of those are going to be people like me who just now went there to laugh for 30 seconds and then leave

there were 135 live viewers of the bad bunny show

and it has another 22 million views on youtube

i think it's safe to safe more people have been exposed to ridicule of the show than they were to the actual show

Definitely helps liberals feel superior though. Which is the ultimate goal for any of them engaging in politics.

lol coming into the thread throwing haymakers

lol coming into the thread throwing haymakers

Im just getting warmed up

i had been kinda thinking of myself as an extremist for hating capitalism so much, and being so opposed to the status quo

but when michael parenti died recently, I was listening to some of his stuff, and he reminded me that my views are not extreme.

being opposed to billions living in misery is not extreme.

being opposed to our overlords exploiting us, opposed to the destruction of the planet, being opposed to what's going on is not extreme

I watched a bit of the bad Bunny show on YouTube.

The opening had an interesting juxtaposition of sugar cane labor and those kind of scam sales things you might get at the beach or getting off at a cruise ship stop.

The music was whatever but the sets and costumes looked good. Not sure there was an intended point.

Probably celebration of culture.

This post definitely feels like you want to feel superior to the liberals.

For sure

The Bad Bunny was fine. I definitely enjoyed it.

All "American"

this is pretty good

I was really hoping for Snoop to come out during that early rap set, maybe just because he made that appearance in the main tent

now I'm sad for the division

there's like a quasi-Hegelian silver lining in the tension suspending the two performances... and then mental [strike]blue-[/strike] "epididymal hypertension" at the total lack of subsequently emergent synthesis

now I'm sad for the division

not for us, for the artists who can't perform with each other

omg Kid Rock

is there a name for the phenomenon of a headliner tanking the show?

he's just hopping around in jorts.

Bad Bunny wasn't singing or dancing, but at least he highlighted others' talent

I'm normally skeptical of the distraction argument but maybe this is a distraction.

Let's just prosecute everyone in the Epstein files and be done with it.

Lots of the summaries on wiki have things like this.

"praised Epstein for teaching him "about the intricacies of the global financial system"

Feel like there's no way he was giving "good" advice or was actually that savvy in the financial system. Not sure if he was scamming people out of money or elaborate inside trading.

I'm normally skeptical of the distraction argument but maybe this is a distraction.

I know an avid NYT reader (I gave him Chomsky, he just said "interesting") who thinks the Epstein thing itself is a distraction from the administration's abrogation of constitutional order

the intricacies of the global financial system

too easy for anything to be code

maybe when you have a billion dollars, money is so meaningless to you that the real currency becomes something else

prosecute everyone in the Epstein files

yes.

also, and I'm serious, prosecute every prior administration for every law it breaks. so completely absurd in "Trump v US" (perfect name) the rationale that POTUS can't be distracted by concerns like 'is this legal?' because ... its decisions are important?

Feel like going through the short synopsis and pictures of people in the wiki article I could guess who did sex crimes.

I have a Politics game. If you could unredact one redaction which would you choose.

We got this name today: Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.

NBC's "prime time" broadcast of the Winter Olympics opening ceremonies audio-mixed out boo's for JD Vance

just went to Peacock, and it's not coming up on the search... has it been completely taken down?

Pam Bondi is as shitty at testifying as she is at everything else she does.

The only thing stronger than hate is concentrated hate in the form of a video essay largely composed of the victims own words and actions.
