I'd say confidence is a big thing, having the mindset that you're going to find a way to exploit them rather than being worried about them exploiting you, and that just comes from studying and having a plan for all the frequent scenarios. Tyty and gl!

1st 100k at 200z:

Update 5:

Profit so far: $15000

Been running into it a lot this week, gonna drop and play some 100z for a week or 2 while working on some things. OKlesgo

I did not realise you replied, and thanks. I would say at the moment I'm very confident, but that's because I'm at 25nl and 95% of the field absolutely sucks haha. I Imagine as I move up I may encounter tougher competition.
Were there any levels you noticed a significant jump in the pools skill level? Also I noticed you said you were a lone wolf for quite a while, did you have any favourite methods for studying or have found things that worked well for you?
Unfortunately I'm travelling and I'm low on money so can't afford to invest in a GTOWizard subscription at the moment. But in the past I've found it very useful for trying to understand why the machine is doing certain things. Once I'm more financially stable I'll purchase a subscription again.

Also great results!

I think the jumps are similar 25-50-100-200, maybe even 25-50 is the biggest jump. I like making pretty general heuristics for common spots, gives me confidence to make exploits and improvise if I know roughly where the GTO is. Also just random sources, you never know what video/lesson you watch might help things click for you.

This is all helpful for building confidence. One thing that gives me confidence is whenever I've observed games at 100nl or 200nl I've instantly, within a minute, always seem something that is completely ridiculous and out of line. I guess I always assumed they'd be a massive jump in the skill level of the pool, but it seems like you have the same fish and whales at your stakes, just playing for a little more money.
Of Course I expect there are a lot more competent opponents there also, but I do believe it's possible for me to do well eventually at these stakes.
Anyway it's cool to see someone having success, I'll follow along and wish you luck ✌️ hopefully one day I can battle against you at 100nl or even 200nl

Is that EV won per hour or EV won per hand?

$35 per hour at 100z is insane

Regs are better but still at 200z I think everyone has big weaknesses including myself. Recs stay the same, so spending a lot of timing finding max exploits vs them would be a very good use of time. Look forward to it bud 😀

Per hour, then rakeback on top of it. It's why I think 100k is even possible at 100z, just got to sustain $50/hr for full time hours

Seems unreasonable.

How much rakeback are you getting?

60-63%

This is good advice. How do you find your exploits? Do you nodelock ranges? Have you looked at any mda stuff? Working with other people perhaps?
I need to get a subscription to GTOWizard so I can spend more time studying, but that will have to wait. I'm confident I have the skill set needed to beat 25nl, but I want to keep improving. Once I'm able I will invest in one.
Other than studying with a solver is there anything you'd recommend for finding exploits? I've heard hand 2 note can be very useful for mda stuff. Is this what you use? I currently have PT4 but I'm curious about hand 2 note.

Update 6:

Online Profit: $1800

Live Profit: $430

Probably will be playing more live and so will include results from now on, I'll get an app to track it at some point. Played in the hippo in London for 2 nights and managed a small profit, gonna play a little bit in Madrid tomorrow.

Stars are getting rid of select in April for UK players, so few things to think about. Might give CoinPoker a go at some point. OKlesgo

How ironic that you'll lose it in the select deal now that is been discussed a bit recently ITT. That sucks! Is some new law to blame for this, or what's the reason?

I dont node lock, I just find the rough GTO and think about what people are actually doing, then just wing it lol. Hand2notes alright, a little annoying. Not sure if I get the most out of it

Tax increase for gambling companies in UK so they're stripping select

Update 7:

Online Profit: $22.6k

Live Profit: $900

Took a few weeks off while travelling but back grinding now. Until the end of March (when I lose select), I'll be playing 5-6k hands a day maybe even more. After that I'll be going to the Irish Open in Dublin, play some cash games and maybe enter the Main Event.

Oklesgo

Update 8:

Finished on PokerStars until Summer. Played live games at the Dublin Irish open for 10 days and did pretty well. Next 3 months will be spent mostly studying, with some Coinpoker/live to implement changes in my game.

Online Profit: $20k

Live Profit: $6.1k

Nice result! Thanks for the update op. Are you from the uk?

We play similar stakes online. Would you like to be study partners so we can learn and make progress together? :p
