Awkward spot pre with Thing 1 and Thing 2..
2/5 NLHE with 10 UTG happening ~50% and 20 UTG+1 double happening ~20% of the time...
We've moved up to the big game afte
Nice hand, seems like your reads were spot on. As were V's-- your hand looks like what it is-- but you got the money in good with an overlay from the LAG.
If I were running that bad I'd take a break or play a very low stakes game until I feel the mojo come back.
I totally forgot yesterday was Superbowl Sunday when I posted. When I looked at Bravo, I actually thought, "damn, that's a pretty sparse crowd at Parx, even for a Sunday."I am totally spoiled. I mostly just play Friday or Saturday nights, when the promos are running and the room is packed to the rafters with fish. There's literally no reason to play in a bad 1/3 game (if you be
Parx on Monday is nothing like Parx on Tuesday. On Tuesday, there are multiple tables on 10/20/40 NL and often 400/800 mixed and 50/50/100 PLO. Saturday is also a big day at Parx.
H calls 60 next to act. Folds to UTG strong LAG who 3-bets to 280. Strong TAG folds UTG+1. V calls 280 MP.... Banana?
Without reading further, I would’ve 3bet to 150.
AP, you’re about 43% if you’re ahead of both of them, 18% if one of them has JJ. There’s 640 in the pot, 220 to you, and you have 1140eff & position.
You’re too strong to fold. I’ve been running good lately so I’d be sorely tempted to jam. Calling is probably best, especially if you’ve been running (and playing?) bad?
Edit after reading:
Spoiler
Hey, after almost thirty years on 2P2, I finally nailed one! I really must be running good.
Tough beat. I’m surprised he called with AQo based on your history of NOT routinely trying to iso him. But nits can get caught up in the degeneracy too, and if he sat down in this game, he was likely feeling it.
You put yourself in an excellent spot to slumpbust. Time for a break. I lost 7800 in about 50 hours, took a five month break, did a lot of studying & mental health work, even switched to zero sugar soda, and am up 7800 in about 60 hours back.
Good luck, God bless.
There are some 2- and 3- star hotels in the neighborhood. Probably got bed bugs. I'd suggest looking around for something a little nicer. I've heard talk of Parx possibly building a hotel on site, but it seems like wishful thinking after hearing it the last few years.
To deuce's point, Tuesday is the "big" day there, when all the pros and whales flock in and the big games go. I think promos run every day except Tuesday. And it seems like they're doing some sort of tournament at least twice a week.
Thanks for the supportive comments everyone
I think you played this hand really well. Sorry for the results lately. I'd suggest just playing the smaller game and just play fundamentally tight for awhile.
