NFL Offseason 2026
it's the most wonderful time of the year for pretend GMs - the NFL Offseason!
Sure the games are fun, but the 7 months of
pretty scary that the Seahawks have $73m in cap space and no huge impending free agents.
Unrestricted free agents
S Coby Bryant
CB Josh Jobe
RT Josh Jones
EDGE Boye Mafe
WR Rashid Shaheed
LB Chazz Surratt
RB Kenneth Walker III
CB Tariq Woolen
WR Dareke Young
Sure, Kenneth Walker, but if they want to re-sign him it'll be manageable enough and they'll want to keep a lot of these guys like Bryant, Jobe, Shaheed and Mafe. But the price won't be crazy. Maybe Woolen unless someone overpays for him.
They have 2 first rounders from the 2023 draft that they'll want to pay in JSN and Witherspoon but given they're under contract for another two years if they 5YO them first, they'll be able to spread them out.
They actually have a few guys they might cut to create more space, eg Cooper Kupp who I can't believe they'll want on the cap for $17m in 2027. And Leonard Williams is only signed for one more year, so maybe they extend him too to reduce his cap hit which is currently $29m for next season.
Really really great roster and cap situation

only 4 draft picks so maybe they trade players or trade out of their first rounder?
The pearce story you gotta actually read about. It isn't a basic NFL player DV situation.
It sounds like a scene out of Sons of Anarchy or something
yeah, the sea free cap space is no joke
what a position to be in
hear a local radio guy compare o'darnold to eli and it is difficult to disagree
Best wishes SRM.
hand in there SRM
chin up
Something I just heard (but didn't confirm) is that even though releasing Tua would result in a $99M cap hit. Because of the increased salary cap, it would actually be a smaller percentage than the $85M cap hit the Broncos took when they released Russ.

Depends on where the cap numbers end up. This year, probably a higher percent of the cap that the Broncos' first hit. Next year probably lower than the Broncos' second hit.
Wilson dead money in 2024: $53,000,000 (20.75% of the cap)
Wilson dead money in 2025: $32,000,000 (11.46% of the cap)
(Assuming he'd be designated as a post-June 1 cut)
Tua dead money in 2026: $67,400,000 (22ish% of the cap)
Tua dead money in 2027: $31,800,000 (9-10ish% of the cap)
They'll probably have to cut Tyreek also in order to be able to cut Tua, but they're probably fine with that.
Dolphins cap is a gigantic ****ing mess.
Feels like they need to trade or cut almost all their vets, bottom out for probably two years to clean things up and then do a total rebuild
best wishes srm
Eagles running off possibly the GOAT OL coach seems unwise.
i have a neighbor who has a relative that is a family member of Stoutland's. i asked her what happened. she said:
He felt that he was not appreciated anymore by some of the coaching staff. And he hadn't been happy for a while. It was time to go. Front office was horrified. He left on his own terms.
she also mentioned he has a one year non-compete and that his exit package isn't finalized yet
Also, βStoutlandβ is just a pluperfect name for an OL/DL coach.
The Darron Lee story looks really bad indeed. If true, then total scumbag and off he goes for life
sadly he stops short of calling him a rapist. but I think that's what he's hinting at
that last paragraph
"You think the head coach didn't have his hand in making that player? So when you say he did nothing for you, that's crazy," Porter said. "Then it's like, damn, why would you take a shot at the guy who changed your life? Because [Bill] Cowher didn't change your life. Cowher cut you three times."
Ready to make my first bet of the season.
I'll bet up to $50 on either or both of the following:
- the AFCW has the highest average win % in the AFC
- the AFCW has a top 3 highest average win % in the NFL
Essentially a "does Mahomes come back healthy" bet tied in with Raiders unders.
Just on quick eyeball glance, AFCW would have measured 3rd in AFC this year and their top 3 were 4th in NFL.
