Aria (Las Vegas, NV)
Hello Two Plus Two Community!
My name is Kat, I am the Poker Host for the Aria Poker Room, I am starting this thread to p
MGM for sure is better, more tourist, much less grinders, no PLO however.
Splashy fun PLO doesn't exist in Vegas unless maybe HS reserved games fwiw, if any of the green tea regs that borg mentioned get wind of splashy action they would be there and ruin it lol.
If ever, I'll plan to get a drink or 2 on the way out so I can relax for a bit because I think it's too risky the regs will show up and ruin it if I start too early, at this venue. I'd like to at least take a shot with the guys who are drinking at the tables at a minimum from time to time 😀
It's hit or miss. The miserable Aria plo day regs camp out for 10-12 hours a day sipping green tea honey lemon and ordering Pelligronos with the cap on to put in their backpacks to take home.
Late at night I've been in some games where the dealer is the only one not drinking. But generally speaking I'm happy if I can get 2-3 people drinking with me.
So accurate
Hey guys,
Haven’t been to Vegas in 4 years so I’m sure a lot has changed since then.
I’d like to come out for all of March and dabble around at PLO. Are the games really as bad and reggy as mentioned here?
My other option would be Dallas. Jucier games I assume but less variety etc

Dallas is hands down better.
Basically anywhere with consistent plo has better games. I play plo in Vegas but that's also bc I like Vegas itself. I definitely average way less hours per day in Vegas than anywhere else I play. If Aria was some middle of nowhere casino like Parx with these plo games I would never set foot in the place.
As I get older and friends move away Vegas becomes a really good city to meet up with for a few days with people you haven't seen in while. So I might be out here for 10 days and play poker 4-5 times in that span.

What stakes do u want to play?
I didn't think the games in Vegas were ever that bad outside of daytime hours.
They can be at times but usually PLO was alright for me in Vegas.
I was looking to play up to 5/5 pretty much. Any recommendations? How’s the Venetian since they’ve remodeled it? Weekends are a lot better than weekdays?

I noticed that the Wynn (according to Poker Atlas) and Aria are now both 5/10/20 PLO or 1/2 PLO,
There will be action for March Madness at 1/2 PLO most likely, with 5 dollars to bring it in.
I'll PM u a recommended place for mid stakes later

I think the main thing that changed from 4 years ago is that they don't have mid stakes games anymore. It's 1/2 PLO or 5 10 20. Also, they added optional 50-dollar bomb pots on every dealer change in the 5/10/20 games in a game where you're paying time.
I've only played at Wynn or Aria, or during WSOP I played there. I thought the PLO have always been pretty good there at night. Day time not as good.
Are u wanting 4 card PLO only? Maybe I can PM u a suggestion for mid stakes if that's what you're looking for. Midstakes being 2/5 up to 5/5 with a rock.
Sounds interesting, hit me up
How are all the unmarried full-time European pros able to stay in the U.S. all year (or more than 90 days)?
According to Poker Atlas, the Wynn now has a 5/5/10 PLO game being offered with a lot of people on the list this morning. I saw that they copied Aria's 5/10 with a rock structure after is was adopted, but when I check today, it says it's 5/5/10 (500 to 2500) on Poker Atlas (at the Wynn).
Aria's 5/10/20 started running around lunch time today. I'm guessing those games will lose a lot of rec players, because a high percentage of rec players would come into the game thinking it was a 5/5 game before. Now that they have the actual stakes of the game posted on the board, they might lose a lot of mid stakes rec players. The Aria 1/2 could get better though if you're a 1/2 player that could help that game out.
There was a known European pro openly multi-tabling online poker on his laptop (the laptop was sitting on the rail in front of him!) while playing live. I asked a supervisor if he was allowed to play online poker while in the middle of a hand. The supervisor went to the shift manager for an accurate response. He came back and said, “It’s not just allowed, it’s encouraged.”
What's a good time to call ahead and get to Aria during WSOP so you don't have to wait more than an hour to get into a game? Is noon too late?
Do they even take call ins for cash games during WSOP?
Weird. I thought they took call-ins the rest of the year but stopped during WSOP. Even if they do, I think it becomes harder to get through on a call.
It might also be that they only take call-ins for bigger games and not for stuff like 2/5 NL or 1/2 PLO.
Does Horseshoe and Paris take call-ins?
