I mean we have a doctor/nurse shortage in general, and there must be some internal competition for getting doctors/nurses to go into the military separate from the public sector. I'm totally happy immigrating qualified doctors and nurses to serve in the military as well to relieve some of that pressure. Even if they are Indian.

I suspect mercenaries are more likely to come from China than India. It might even be a nondisclosed condition for the trade deal. Allowing Chinese soldiers and officials to operate more freely in Canada (they already are operating to an extent) to keep tighter control over the Chinese diaspora population.
I guess we will just see how the next few years play out which one of us is correct as far as the motives and outcomes of the Carney govts moves. I suspect they are generally designed to clamp down heavily on free speech and populist political movements they dont approve of. And what happened to the Trucker Freedom Convoy is just the beginning. Time will tell.

Yeah I did some reading afterwards and one of the explanation I got was that these votes aren't always unanimous because of philosophy and some justices interpret the Constitution and statutes differently. Add to that, as you said, that some justices simply won't rule against Trump and you get this situation.

No one is actually better off. We're just swapping one tax for another tax. It's just that the new taxes don't target high carbon emitting things any more.

It's sad we're seeing provinces run up these deficits at pre Trudeau federal levels yet you can't get a doctor or surgeries and classrooms are at capacity in both provinces .
