...The tightest nittiest locals at Venetian go crazy over bomb pots. I don't get it?

I wonder if it's more like, "I get to see a flop with a big pot for just 1 BB."? I guess I've never played much in bomb-pot land, not sure.

Thanks again for the (as always) excellent TR, mrb!

There is some allure to seeing the flop and finding out if you flopped someting cool like quads or a straight flush and being able to fold if you didn't.

That's if you have the discipline to not chase a big draw. It's been proven to me many times that I don't.

somebody's draw always hits. he who hits the flop hardest usually loses the most at river

Nice report, thanks for sharing.

Not in Vegas anymore but since this TR is still sorta fresh so I decided I would post todays activities here. Just about ready to head out to Hammond Horseshoe for the WSOP circuit series. It started yesterday with a $400 one day which drew 340+ players so I am hoping for large fields.

I will be playing in flight 1B for the $500 mini-main. 30K stack and 30 minute levels. Will play to level 22 or 5% whichever comes first. Final is on Sunday. 5 entry flights and I find it interesting(?) that they have slightly different structures. The 2 morning flights (today and tommorrow) are 30 minute levels but the 3 afternoon flights have 25 minute levels. That Saturday afternoon flight would be brutal since you would only have a couple hours before the final.

Anyway I am hoping for a long day into the late evening. Gotta focus and not do anything stupid. If I can do that and run into a few good spots I have a chance!

Never played and WSOP circuit stuff before so it should be interesting.

Go Go Go!

30k lets go!

Go mrb!

I'm curious about this. Let's say each day plays down to 5%, but are on different levels from each other when that happens.

How do they rectify that, so everybody gets a chance to play all levels (and nobody plays a level more than once)?

I'm guessing they don't care, and declare a starting level and time for combination day.

General rule for these situations is that Day 2 restarts on the level where the 'earliest' group finished, in terms of what the blinds were.

First break 37.2K

It's been a real roller coaster up a little down a little I made one big nice double up. I had pocket Queens and raised to 1200 preflop on a 24 blinds. I had two callers and the Flop came Jack High I think 7/8. I bet 3500 one player came over the top for $8,500 and the other guy folded. I decided what the heck and I shoved he called he had pocket pens I had pocket queens and I doubled up. At that point I was in pretty good shape. But I got a little aggressive with Ace King and gave a decent chunk pack.

Rooting for you. Win all the chips!

lol, why do they already have 25ks in play for a 30k starting stack when 100s are still in?

All late regs get them. I had to make change

Second break 55.5 k. Average stack is 61k.

Been mostly card then since last break. I did have two good hands though. One more I stacked a short short stack with Jack Jack. And another where I had Ace King missed but kept batting and convinced the other guy to fold.

Knock it outta the park!

Following along while "working".

Third break 107.5 k. Average snack is 113k.

Still mostly card dead. But I didn't manage to get pocket kings twice. And both of those worked out.

steady as she goes. GL.

On dinner break right now. I have 148k. Average stack is $213k.

The good news is I'm in the money. It pays the top 15%. We had 278 entries and right now there are 40 left. The bubble was at 42. So at least I'll double my money but I really would like to make it to sunday.

No real hands of notes since the last break. Just your basic raise and take the blinds. I haven't been involved in anything to show down in quite a while.

I can't say for sure but my guess is that we'll hit the 5% threshold before level 22. Will be coming back to level 17 after the dinner break. 15 will make the cut for sunday.

SUNday!
SUNday!!
SUNdayyyy!!!

Nice. Survive and advance.

You’ve played great all day, take it to a bag!
