President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

Sadly I do not see this going as removing the leader of Venezuela

We should have warned them this would happen.

Can’t ****ing wait til I’m paying $6/gallon or potentially $7/gallon for gas next week for absolutely no ****ing reason

But according to Blahblah I just need 5 decades to let this all play out

maybe the Dems shouldnt have went all in on slaughtering children in Gaza and Lebanon.

by StoppedRainingMen m

just wanna make the libz mad’ shitbros for trump: well I guess you got exactly what you voted for, so I mean, I guess you won

As far as I can tell, bolded is the most important thing for a lot of MAGA diehards.

by Rococo m

Close enough, SRM. Close enough.

We take the wins where we can get them these days

I would encourage you to look at the big picture: Higher gas prices -----> Fewer cars on the road -------> Reduced [strike]Global Warming[/strike] Climate Change.

It’s so ****ing funny as an Iranian whose entire family who is not in the United States lives in Tehran to be whitesplained by some complete dipshit in Ohio handwaving all of this as ‘well something something Gaza’

Move to tehran today stand with everyone there and own your words or shut your bitch ass up

I wish that I could say I was surprised, but I'm not at all surprised. Trump getting heady about the use of military power after what I'm sure he viewed as a flawless operation to capture Maduro was the most predictable development ever. But Trump shouldn't have taken anything away from the military's ability to capture Maduro in a tactical operation. The U.S.'s ability to achieve very immediate objectives in short-term military operations has never been in question. The problem is that the U.S. government very often doesn't have a clearly-defined long term objective or at a minimum doesn't have a coherent plan for achieving whatever hazy long term objective it has in mind. So we just end up killing a lot of people and achieving very little.

Because he does not expect to ever run in another election, I think that Trump feels considerably less accountable to everyone, including his supporters, than he did during his first term. For that reason, despite his isolationist rhetoric, we all should have expected military operations to be attractive to Trump for the same reason that imposing tariffs under IEEPA seemed attractive to Trump before the latest SCOTUS ruling. Military action and tariffs are highly impactful things that he can implement or order on a whim without anyone's approval, which is exactly the sort of monarchical authority that Trump finds intoxicating.

Trump knows nothing but petty shows of strength and comical levels of flattery

The absurdity of it all is I’m sure that moronic board of peace comprised mostly of Arab nations insisted this was a bad idea and I’m 60/40 sure his quip that was quoted itt about how he expected cash from them but didn’t get cash is an implicit admission his shakedown didn’t work so he’s happy to be bibi’s puppet while showing all of MAGA the browns will bend the knee

Although I absolutely despise every last one of you and will never forgive a single one of you from now until the day I die, I’m sincerely curious, if you’re a trump supporter, what have you gotten out of this presidency thus far that you’re happy about?

Some interesting analysis from just before the strikes started.

A lot of bad things happened to brown people?

Uhh you’ll just buy less gas so the overall amount of money you spend won’t be any more. Dunno how to simplify this for you anymore.

The bolded is hard to know. Some people subscribe to the Littlefinger school of politics. ("Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder.")

Lol, this guy doesn’t believe in climate change either? Really racking up the numbers for boomer bingo.

You already answered your own question. He punished the people his supporters were told were their enemy and he made liberals big mad.

Given the high stock market levels, with the S&P 500 in a similar situation, multiple and concentration-wise, to the early 2000s, the potential for a new Iraq, and the way more precarious financial situation, I would stay out of US equities for at least 5 years. Maybe emerging markets and commodities will be the play again, gold will keep going higher, oil will go higher etc etc. Only difference is we don't have something like early-2000s China, at least that I can see.

I guess. Saudi, hilariously enough, is probably the only country in the Middle East that could benefit by Iran’s destabilization. The rest of the region is categorically ****ed by it, whether they realize it now or have to find out later

"Boomer Bingo" is legit funny.

The numbers were clear that the Democrat led slaughter all over the region cost them the election. As predicted by many.

Btw, how many "GENOCIDE!" jokes have you made the last 2 years?

SRM,

Because you have family in Tehran, I assume you follow Iranian domestic politics more closely and have a better feel for power dynamics within Iran than I do. If Khameini is already dead, or if he is killed in a follow up strike in the next few days, what do you expect to happen internally in Iran?

You just said Kamala will definitely win so don't worry about it.

She definitely should have. Too bad low IQs like you exist in droves.

My election prediction was wrong so don't worry about fascism is quite the low IQ take for sure.

by Gorgonian m

I reject the very concept that anyone in particular "should have" won.

Do you support Sklansky's(?) idea that a certain IQ threshold should be met in order to legally vote?
