I've followed this story a little, but hadn't realised that Pearce was the guy that Falcons moved up from pick 46 to 26 for in return for 46 and this year's 17 pick

In all 3 situations until it happened not a single person had them on the radar as the #1 pick. Tua was the assumed #1 the burrow year, arch this year, and I don’t remember the cam year but I know it wasn’t cam

2011 was Andrew Luck. Then he decided to return to school for his junior season. I remember feeling robbed, especially with Cam being a raw prospect. In hindsight, I’m glad we got Cam.

I think mahomes has enough top 100 pass catchers that he will be fine and be able to beat out fields in the training camp QB battle and hold him off at least for another season, but I think it is great KC has a young back up plan in case mahomes doesn't work out.
