Talk About Movies: Part 4

I absolutely loved Payback when it first came out. Seen it a ton. I never bothered to watch the “directors cut” or “alternate cut” or whatever it was considered. I think it was supposed to be a more serious take, but I much prefer the tone it has.

Predator: Badlands turned the movies series into a bad comedy trio with a baby Yoda.

I liked Payback. I assume we all know it's a remake, or reinterpretation, of Point Blank starring Lee Marvin, which I consider a masterpiece. Well worth checking out.

Yeah I also liked the tone of the theatrical version and if I do check the director's cut, it'll be more for completion/the sake of it.

I actually wasn't aware of that thanks for the heads up, and still haven't seen Point Blank yet, although I keep meaning to watch it.

I've literally zero interest in seeing this, premise sounds awful and the trailer looks dire to me. I've been turned off the series since The Predator which I found truly abysmal. I tend to just stick to revisiting the original which is a classic and part 2, which I find surprisingly kickass.

Predator Badlands was fun as hell

Predators (2010) is also underrated.

One of the things I loved about the original was its mystique, re the Predator's origin. (I also felt the same way about the original Alien) I personally don't need a backstory for it and tbh, the thought of a PG 13 version with the Predator as the actual protagonist just does nothing for me and the Predator's actual look in the Badlands trailer just had me laughing at it.

Yeah I actually found it solid enough although I much prefer the first two. I didn't like Prey at all.

Predator: Badlands just didn't do it for me, but I think I am spoiled on what makes a great fight scene (more on this later). However, since some of you liked Predator: Badlands, I decided to give it another viewing. Nope, I still don't like the idea of the franchise moving towards a comedy trio. I will say though that the graphics are amazing!

If you want to watch what might be the greatest fight scene of all times, then watch the Six Million Dollar Man fight a crocodile. But fair warning, once seen it cannot be unseen. This fight from about 50 years ago will be the most incredibly realistic battle you have ever seen and will change you.

lol I actually remember seeing that scene when when it first aired. My brother and I LOVED the Six Million Dollar Man.

I have never been more despondant or wrecked by a movie/TV show then when Steve Austin's fiance - Jamie Summers - apparently dies, but then they turn her into the Bionic Woman and make her promise she can't tell Steve she's still alive for some stupid reason, so he thinks she's dead! I was inconsolable. It was so unfair!

Down Quixote is a feature film adapted from the classic "Don Quixote" by Miguel de Cervantes, written and directed by Leonardo Cortez, with a cast made up exclusively of actors with Down Syndrome (ADID Theater Group).

I gotta see this.

That looks wonderful. It took me a little while to see it's "Down" not "Don."
