[ClubWPTGold] Unofficial Thread
time for a thread imo
The Big Adventures tournament finale is almost here. Theyβll pick one winner from the Top 100 players for a Maldives trip, and itβll be streamed live.
I didnβt reach the Top 100 myself, but Iβll probably tune in just to see the excitement. Anyone else watching?
It's anyone else noticing sent glitches in plo mtts and ring these past few days? It's Harrisburg after calling it raising pre flop. And in run outs with the hand being completed without seeing what happens. I'm plugged in so it's definitely not a wifi issue.

It's always glitchy. But yes the last 48 hours or so have been unusually bad.
My tourney glitch had me auto - checking hands in an MTT post flop multiple times.
Cash games on other tables were working normally
I don't play many mtts, but I haven't had any glitches there, but I do constantly get cash game glitches with connection. My three favorites are:
1. when it will look like someone else at my table is timing out and the red ring around their avatar just keep blinking until I realize it was my connection to the table that was lost even though I'll have another table(s) working just fine.
2. If I have 2+ tables running and I sit out and click switch to another table, some connection will be lost on that screen only and then I can't do anything with that screen and I just get red banners constantly popping up on every table.
3. Similar to #2 except it'll eventually get some connection again and it will seat me at a table I'm already at. To be clear, it's not me as two seats, but my second window will take over the first window. So all the action will be done from the second window but the first window can still see the action and still shows me as seated.
Glitches I've seen:
I've seat-changed too close to the deal and got dealt my cards face-down.
I get the dark-screen/red banner thing several times per session. It seems to break whenever the action gets to me. However, if it glitches while the action is already on me, I have to check or fold and get unfrozen at my next action.
After such a glitch, the screen doesn't always clear correctly. I'll be dealt new cards, but the board from the previous hand remains on screen. A new flop will overwrite the old flop, but the old turn and river will still be on screen, until they too are overwritten street by street.
Not really a glitch but oddity: Getting 4 cards with all the same rank is called "Quads" in cash games but "Four of a Kind" in tournaments.
Pending cashout from 27th Feb, still pending. Received email yesterday with the same e-mail I received earlier but from a different support to wait another 10 days.
anybody from california want to chime in on their experience? Want to register but just heard about the 9 day rule.

"Beyond the statistics and trends, there is a darker, more complex factor that must be acknowledged. Information circulating in the betting underworld of Cleveland suggests this game may be viewed as an "opportunity" by certain parties.
According to a source—a former employee of a legal Cleveland casino who maintains contacts with investment groups interested in "alternative sports betting markets"—a significant amount of "smart money" has been placed on the Over 158.5 for this specific matchup. This source claims that a group with deep ties to Northern Ohio placed well over a million dollars on the Over, broken down into hundreds of smaller bets across legal sportsbooks in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan to avoid detection.
The source's information is fragmentary, pieced together from conversations within this milieu, but points to a few key observations:
The Trigger: The real interest from this group began immediately after UMass's stunning upset of Miami (OH) . Until that moment, UMass was not on their radar. But that win opened up the bracket and created a perceived "opportunity" for the quarterfinal matchup with Toledo. The bets were placed quickly, reacting to the new landscape.
The Focus: Leroy Blyden Jr. According to the source, whispers in betting circles ..."

Just dropped an analysis for today's NHL matchup.
Have they removed the two pro per table setting? Recently, it seems most of the 5/10/20 and 10/20/40 8-max tables contain at least 4 or 5. I wondered if they were doing this to counter the CoinPoker 0% rakeback month promo.
I havenβt played online in 3 years. I was scared away by all the bots and cheating. Whatβs this site like? I live in America. I play mostly ring games at any stakes my bankroll can handle.

Sites good. Can deposit with credit card, quick withdrawals. Auto straddles (3 blinds basically), and antes from every player. Jump in, the waters warm
Let's get some more SNG options! Six max turbos and rakeback please.
At least in MTTs, drawing some more regs from competitor sites can be a positive change. The MTT ecosystem here might be a combination of what I call "too soft and too big" meaning the good regs can have astronomically high "true winrates" while also incurring astronomical variance from fish calling off in the most ridiculous spots. This is an application of what we call the bia
This doesn't make any sense. At all. So you're saying you want nits to replace the crackheads cause the crackheads are too much variance? If every table was myself and 7 crackheads, I could probably be a multimillionaire playing 100nl in five years or less.
The rake on this site is insane. I totaled up 300 hands at 1/2 PLO and found these stats.
bb/100 in rake PER player: 31.25 bb/100
Table rake: $232/hr
Rake per player: $38.75/hr
So playing 3 tables of 1/2 you would be paying around $115 an hour in rake. The games are insanely soft but at what point is the site completely ripping you off and you say enough is enough.

I’ve been saying it for a while. Need two whales at every table to make up for it. I doubt anyone can beat a table full of bad regs at that rake.

The site is smart and put every big youtuber on their payroll so there is nobody to really set the narrative on the site. People see 4% rake with a $6 cap and it almost looks as if it is better than WSOP's 5.5% rake up to $3. It can be easy to see "well the rake is lower but the cap is higher, it probably evens out".
The reality is this:
A table of 200PLO on WSOP.com net rakes about $6 an hour per player. (WSOP rakes about $10 an hour per player. You get about 40% back from rakeback and promos).
A table of 200PLO on CLUBWPTGold rakes about $38.75 an hour per player. The promos amount to basically nothing.
The rake is 650% higher than industry standard. Hell, you are paying 4x the rake of the average cardroom which pays for a table, a dealer, cards, a floor, cameras, lights, rent, taxes etc. I wonder what % the influencers are getting paid for getting people to sign up. If they get 50% (which coinpoker used to do), then people like Doug could be making $60 an hour per grinder who uses their code. No wonder there's radio silence from the people who have influence in our scene - they are all on the payroll.
edit: I agree with you on tables needing at least two whales to make up for it. When I pull up tables of a mix of bad and good regs with maybe one fish (non whale) I figure the entire table is losing. Unless you can beat a table for 30bb/100 you are losing. The level of bumhunting this site encourages is anti competitive.
If other sites (with better rake) would spread the 3 blind with antes structure I bet theyβd be amazing too. Really donβt know why theyβre sticking with the usual boring 2 blinds with no antes structure that incentivizes nits to nit

Appreciate you sharing this, hadnβt gone in and looked into it myself - a few thoughts.
Adjusting the effective bb due to ante, the bb/100 isnβt quite as bad (still not great).
To me, my benchmark for rake on this site would be more aligned with the COVID-era app clubs given the quality of games (havenβt played on wsop but assuming much tougher)
I would love to get more 2/4 plo 6max games running for anyone in the player pool who sees this - double the stakes but rake cap only goes from 6 to 7. Lots of the same action players play both 1/2 and 2/4 from what Iβve seen. Sit with me and they will come π
