This is the post I was referring to, as far as you likely being wrong about everything; and hopefully having the self awareness to re-evaluate your entire worldview when none of this comes to pass.

1. The GCC countries are not going to kick out the US
2. The petrodollar isn't going to die
3. The US will not crumble
4. There will be no nuclear war
5. Russia and China aren't going to step in (any more than they currently are, which is supplying the IRGC with intel and supplies)

--You know what is much more likely to happen.

1. There will eventually be a ceasefire; at least between the US and IRGC. Who knows if Israel and the IRGC will keep fighting or not.
2. The GCC countries will be even more estranged from the IRGC than they were before.
3. There will be increased normalization between the Sunni Arab world and Israel.
4. Hopefully a severely weakened IRGC will eventually fall apart, and a sane govt take its place; that doesn't rule on terrorizing and killing its own people and all its neighbors.

Iran has all of the cards so the options are the that US is completely humiliated or the US escalates to the point that ww III starts.

The US could go home tomorrow but the straight of Hormuz will still be closed to any tankers doing business in USD.

The IRGC has all the cards "insomuch" as they are psychopaths that dont care how much everyone else in the world suffers, especially the people of Iran.

The worst that is going to happen is eventually we will have to invade Iran, where a lot of people on both sides are going to die, and/or bomb Iran back to the Stone Age (this would be extremely easy, just blow up Kharg, some ports, some tankers, some electrical plants and some desalination plants. Would probably take about 5 minutes; and China and Russia wouldn't lift a finger to assist). Even this I dont see as likely.

However this ends, it will take a very half glass biased perspective to view this as a "victory" for the IRGC or a "humiliation" for the US. The IRGC is completely degraded beyond comprehension. Israel will completely own their skies for the foreseeable future. They have no moral authority of legitimacy to their people, or pretty much any govt outside of China and Russia. They are just terrorist holding the rest of the world hostage through pure, naked force and brutality.

If the rest of the world has to destroy Iran to stop the terror of the IRGC they will. The IRGC doesn't have the trump card to do whatever they want, no matter how bad it is for everyone else, indefinitely. You are very deluded if you think this.

Right now everyone is hedging their bets their best course of action is just to play defense and wait for a ceasefire. But the rest of the world isn't forced into doing this indefinitely. The world is only at the mercy of the IRGC insomuch as they think not responding violently is better than responding violently. If/when that calculus changes the IRGC can and will be destroyed. And neither China or Russia would step in to stop this happening if it got to that point.

Iran has freshwater so it can survive its desalinization plants being hit-- the Gulf countries do not and cannot and Iran could hit those plants at will.

There is no unblocking the straight of Hormuz if Iran doesn't choose it. Hitting ships is too easy and Iran has their own missile and drone factories.

Iran has the capability to disrupt energy exports from the Middle East for as long as they desire.

For who? The situation is only getting better for the oil and gas firms that are collectively gaining 100s of billions in revenue froma drawn out war - it even increases demand for renewables which doesnt happen very often.

You've got an increase in worldwide defense spending that can be used here and abroad and can easily, as wars have in the past, increase geopolitical dominance in the long run. None of those guys are effected by short term costs at the pump and the masses will end up having their short attention span shifted over to the next big thing in short order- the drawn out mishap is the feature - which i think you should be able to see, which probably plays into the "regime chsnge"
